Corsair Goes Mobile with Voyager Air and USB Flash Drives

By Mike Clements, on March 6th, 2013

I remember that back in my grade school days, a field trip was a real treat. Even if the place we visited was not all that interesting, at least it was a day out of school. The best trips of course were those that were in fact fun and interesting.

Steam to Go and a Large USB Flash Drive

By Mike Clements, on November 27th, 2012

With the holiday season approaching, I started thinking about the fact that I will soon become a Voyager as I go to visit family and friends. This reminded that I needed to plan ahead a bit if I intended to be a Survivor on my journeys.

In the past, before I had a gaming capable laptop, I remember being marooned at a relatives house with nothing to do while people slept off their holiday meals. I also remember thinking that it sure would be nice to have access to a computer and to my Steam account and be able to play my games. If you have a nice large flash drive, like a Flash Survivor® Stealth USB 3.0 or Flash Voyager® GT USB 3.0 then you have a solution that will fit into your shirt pocket!

The Ultimate USB Flash Drive — Advanced Features

By Mike Clements, on August 23rd, 2010

Corsair has provided a utility that helps users create the Ultimate Bootable USB Flash Drive. One outstanding feature of this tool is that it is very simple for end users to add advanced functionality to the tool once the basic installation is complete.

A drive like the Flash Survivor® GTR, pictured below, can become a wonderful tool in a few easy steps. An ISO image is an image of an optical disk and this tool has the ability to boot from a bootable ISO image thus eliminating the need to burn a CD or DVD. Following the directions in this guide, the user simply downloads the desired ISO file, extracts it to the USB drive, edits three lines of text, and the tool is ready to use.

There are many options that an user can add to the basic version of this tool. Most Linux distributions can be downloaded as ISO files. With this tool, users can boot to Linux from their drive which amounts to a pocket sized portable operating system.

Graham Hoyland explores the world with Corsair®

By Jessie Lawrence, on August 23rd, 2010

So, you think you put your PC components through some extreme conditions? Maybe you overclock your RAM or CPU a bit. Maybe you've accidentally put your Flash Voyager® or Flash Survivor™ USB flash drives through the wash. Maybe you even dabble a bit in liquid nitrogen. All of this is pretty "extreme" until you see the environments where famous explorer Graham Hoyland is using his Corsair hardware. Here's a hint — Mount Everest. Watch the video below for details:

How to Create the Ultimate Bootable USB Flash Drive

By Jessie Lawrence, on August 20th, 2010

Let's face it. Floppy drives are so 1992 and CDs and DVDs don't conveniently fit into most people's pockets. USB flash drives are the ultimate in pocket sized storage and the possibilities for using them are virtually limitless. However, creating a flash drive that is a convenient and bootable tool is not as easy as making a bootable floppy or bootable optical disk. That is, until now.

The Corsair Flash Survivor™ GTR is already an outstanding drive with superior durability and performance.

Corsair has provided an easy to use utility that will convert your USB flash drive into a versatile bootable tool. Developed by Pendrivelinux.com, the simple installation makes the drive bootable allowing the user to boot directly to Memtest or to a FreeDOS prompt. The drive is also still fully usable as a standard USB flash drive.

Frequently Asked Questions

Top Questions
