Corsair at GXL Lan Party
By Jake Crimmins posted May 11th 2011
This past weekend Corsair went to the GXL Lan, located 45 minutes from Philadelphia. The event was completely sold out with over 350 gamers attending!
Within the first 30 minutes of the LAN, we heard a cry from a gamer that his headset was broken. After seeing his current headset held together with duct tape, Corsair took care of him with a brand new HS1A headset. He was so happy he promptly smashed his old headset. Take a look at the carnage below.

On the Saturday, the second day of the LAN we held a system build off on stage. Two contestants that really needed a case upgrade were chosen to compete. As seen below one case was a greenish/yellow color and really needed to be replaced. The other was a custom modified AT form factor case that was held together with zip ties a shoe lace and rust! They would have to tear their current system apart and build it into a new Corsair 600T.

After 25 minutes, the build off was down to the very last seconds. Each contestant had issues booting into Windows. Finally after taking an excruciating 5 minutes to boot into the operating system, Steven Ciofalo of Yonkers, NY took the win. He walked away with a Corsair Force SSD and a Corsair Vengeance 8GB kit. As you can see below he was very excited to win the SSD so he can replace his aging 120GB IDE HDD!

The GXL was an action packed event with 48 hours of gaming, giveaways, chaos and hundreds of energy drinks. Congrats to all the winners of our Facebook giveaways, contests, and gaming tournaments.
