Vengeance M90 Laser Gaming Mouse Gaming Profiles

By Andrew Kim posted Feb 14th 2012

Life at Corsair is pretty tough... I mean, playing the top twelve most popular games of 2011 for six weeks straight on some of the most high performance computer hardware with my sole assignment being to produce profiles that enthusiasts may use with the Vengeance M90 Performance MMO and RTS Laser Gaming Mouse — all while getting paid? But really... it was a lot of work! At this point a lot of readers probably hate me in a sort of loving way (I hope) but making proper profiles, not for yourself, but for other people to use, is a totally different ball game. They need to be easy to memorize, better to use than the default keyboard controls and, once again, EASY TO MEMORIZE. Here, I will discuss the mental methodology I used to come up with the profiles in this first batch. Hopefully, this helps you a bit more to retain each profile in your memory.

Vengeance 32GB Memory Caching Performance Tests

By Jake Crimmins posted Feb 09th 2012

So you just built yourself a new Intel® X79 based system using 32GB of Vengeance® memory and a Force Series™ GT SSD. It's already pretty fast, but you can make it faster by caching with memory! Similar in concept to our Accelerator Series™ SSD cache drives, you can use a DRAM memory to cache your SSD or HDD and get absolutely amazing read performance. A RAM cache allocates a chunk of your memory to store the most commonly used data from your main disk, making this data available to the CPU with rocket-fast access time. A RAM disk is very similar — however, it shows up as a different drive letter and files must be manually copied to it. In addition, if you lose power, everything on the RAM disk is lost forever, while the data in the RAM cache is mirrored in the hard drive or SSD.

BF3 Macros and the Vengeance M60 FPS Laser Gaming Mouse

By Mike Clements posted Feb 07th 2012

It never fails to annoy my wife when she walks into my office and sees me playing a game. "I thought you were working" she says. Of course I explain to her that certain Corsair products require extensive product testing in the most demanding environments. This definitely applies to our new Vengeance gaming mice and keyboards. I have recently been giving them in depth exhaustive testing with Battlefield 3.

Vengeance M90 Performance MMO and RTS Laser Gaming Mouse

By Andrew Kim posted Jan 24th 2012

The Vengeance® M90 MMO laser gaming mouse was designed to complement the K90 MMO mechanical gaming keyboard. I won't lie, the M90 seems intimidating to use, even to a tech-savvy nerd like myself. At first, I thought — 9 buttons on the side?! Then I realized the profile mechanism and wondered "SIX profiles?! FIFTY-FOUR programmable side-keys?!" Too often, premium mice and keyboards pester the user with a conundrum of buttons and design bits with relatively little to no usability, given the cost and looks. My own past experience with similarly endowed products told me to be wary, but after an hour of usage, I forgot that those mice I used in the past ever existed.

Vengeance K90 MMO Gaming Keyboard

By Andrew Kim posted Jan 19th 2012

If you’ve read my previous blog write-ups on the Corsair Vengeance® K60 FPS Gaming Keyboard and the Vengeance M60 FPS Laser Gaming Mouse, then you’ll know that in the past I was never a big promoter of expensive keyboards and mice. By “expensive” I mean, anything over twenty ($20.00) dollars, and I say all of this because such products have almost never enhanced my own user experience to the point where I felt the price was justified. The Vengeance K60 and M60 really changed my tune by following an essential design philosophy: simple appearance, and quality performance. Our flagship Vengeance K90 MMO Gaming Keyboard and M90 MMO Laser Mice follow the the same philosophy, just turned up to 11. Well — turned up to 54 actually...

Corsair Link Testing: Battlefield 3 Style

By Mike Clements posted Jan 12th 2012

Corsair Link™ is an integrated system that gives you complete control of your PC’s CPU cooling and case lighting systems. I recently did some Corsair Link testing to document some of its features. This is yet another instance where my job affords me the opportunity to play a fun game while testing our products. It's a difficult job but, someone has to do it. Take it easy on me if you see me out in BF3 land.

Accelerator SSD Caching Drive Performance

By Jake Crimmins posted Jan 10th 2012

We all know SSDs are fast but are limited to smaller drive capacities. The Corsair Accelerator Series SSD Cache Drives allow you to get SSD performance while still having large hard drive like capacities. The Corsair Accelerator Series SSD Cache Drive is available in 30GB, 45GB, and 60GB. To test the performance I used the 60GB drive along with a Western Digital Green 1.5TB hard drive. The drives were plugged into a Gigbyte GA-Z68A-UD4P running a 2500K with 16GB of Vengeance Memory. After installing Windows I ran several benchmarks. After running the benchmarks I installed the Dataplex caching software. You can read the software install blog here.
