Corsair attends Gamescom 2012 with a Vengeance!By Gareth Ogden, on August 15th, 2012
The spectacle of the London Olympic Games may be over, but in Germany at least, the games are set to continue... And there isn't a javelin or a pair of tight Lycra running shorts in sight. That's because this week Germany's fourth largest city, Cologne, plays host to gamescom 2012, Europe's biggest trade fair for interactive games and entertainment. And Corsair will be there in force!Continue Reading
SWVA LAN April 2012: Well Played!By Mike Clements, on July 9th, 2012
In late 2011 I received an email from Caleb Tote, one of the primary organizers of the SWVA (Southwest Virginia) LAN event. According to their Facebook page, "SWVA is A 100% non-profit organization, offering gaming events to local programmers, gamers, and all types of computer enthusiasts." Caleb told me who he was, explained the history and scope of their LAN event, and asked about how to apply for a LAN sponsorship package from Corsair for their April 12-13, 2012 LAN event.
Corsair Workstation Extreme Build Log: Chapter 1By Mike Clements, on September 13th, 2011
It goes without saying that some system builds are more fun than others. This is especially true when I know that I am going to get to do some extensive “testing” with it when I’m done as opposed to shipping it off to a tradeshow or LAN party. This build log is certainly no exception and may well be the most fun rig I have built since I’ve been employed here at Corsair. I built it to be a strong workstation, but I expect my testing to show that it will be excellent for gaming and multimedia also.
Intel Atlanta LANFest Summer LAN 2011By Mike Clements, on June 22nd, 2011
Over the past 2 years, Corsair has greatly expanded its line of gaming products. So, it's only natural that we'd start attending and sponsoring more gaming events. We recently attended the Intel® Atlanta LANFest Summer LAN 2011. The organizer put us up in the front of the room in the middle of the stage — thanks Kevin! This is what everyone saw when they came into the room.
Intel Lanfest InfernaLANBy Jake Crimmins, on June 10th, 2011
This past weekend I went to Intel’s LANFest InfernaLAN in DuPont, Washington. At 385 people the InfernaLAN is the largest and is the oldest LANFest event. The LAN parties are put on by a group of PC gamers that work at Intel. Over the past several years they have continued to grow larger and add more events across the United States. One of the best things about the LANFest events is, all of the proceeds are matched by Intel and donated to charity. The events have helped to raise almost $400,000 for charity.
Friday night was the first night and by 7PM more than 100 gamers were waiting in line to check in. By midnight almost all of the 385 seats were filled. One thing that I found very different about this LAN was the fact that it was very family oriented. Several parents had brought their kids along, to game right alongside of them. We gave away a several Gaming Audio Series™ HS1A gaming headsets and kits of Vengeance™ memory to members of our Facebook event.Continue Reading
