AMD Llano Revisited: More Performance Options + Special Bundle from Tiger Direct!

By Mike Clements posted Mar 21st 2012

Back in November of 2011, we brought you a build log focused on AMD's Llano APU. The log was based around the then, top of the Llano line AMD 3850K APU. The build log was very well received and highlighted the benefits of building a very power and cost efficient system. We've revisited the original testing with an APU upgrade, AMD's Dual Graphics, and a Corsair Accelerator Series SSD Cache Drive. And, the pricing is even better after a visit to Tiger Direct!

Vengeance M90 Laser Gaming Mouse Gaming Profiles

By Andrew Kim posted Feb 14th 2012

Life at Corsair is pretty tough... I mean, playing the top twelve most popular games of 2011 for six weeks straight on some of the most high performance computer hardware with my sole assignment being to produce profiles that enthusiasts may use with the Vengeance M90 Performance MMO and RTS Laser Gaming Mouse — all while getting paid? But really... it was a lot of work! At this point a lot of readers probably hate me in a sort of loving way (I hope) but making proper profiles, not for yourself, but for other people to use, is a totally different ball game. They need to be easy to memorize, better to use than the default keyboard controls and, once again, EASY TO MEMORIZE. Here, I will discuss the mental methodology I used to come up with the profiles in this first batch. Hopefully, this helps you a bit more to retain each profile in your memory.

Vengeance 32GB Memory Caching Performance Tests

By Jake Crimmins posted Feb 09th 2012

So you just built yourself a new Intel® X79 based system using 32GB of Vengeance® memory and a Force Series™ GT SSD. It's already pretty fast, but you can make it faster by caching with memory! Similar in concept to our Accelerator Series™ SSD cache drives, you can use a DRAM memory to cache your SSD or HDD and get absolutely amazing read performance. A RAM cache allocates a chunk of your memory to store the most commonly used data from your main disk, making this data available to the CPU with rocket-fast access time. A RAM disk is very similar — however, it shows up as a different drive letter and files must be manually copied to it. In addition, if you lose power, everything on the RAM disk is lost forever, while the data in the RAM cache is mirrored in the hard drive or SSD.

BF3 Macros and the Vengeance M60 FPS Laser Gaming Mouse

By Mike Clements posted Feb 07th 2012

It never fails to annoy my wife when she walks into my office and sees me playing a game. "I thought you were working" she says. Of course I explain to her that certain Corsair products require extensive product testing in the most demanding environments. This definitely applies to our new Vengeance gaming mice and keyboards. I have recently been giving them in depth exhaustive testing with Battlefield 3.
