1. Check that the Voyager Air drive is turned on and is properly connected to one of the ports on your home network router. Most routers have indicators on the front showing when an active device is connected to a port. You can also use the management utility that came with your network router to verify that the Voyager Air is seen as an attached device.
2. Follow these steps to help Windows discover your Voyager Air drive on the network:
NOTE: As a Windows alternative to get to the “Voyager_Air” folder, click on the Start Menu and in the box labeled “Search program and files” type \\VoyagerAir.
Please refer to the Voyager Air Connectivity Guide for more detailed information on connecting to your Voyager Air.
Yes, the Flash Padlock uses an internal rechargeable battery. The battery will charge automatically when connected to a USB port on your computer (full charge takes about an hour if the drive is completely drained).
Even with a fully drained battery, you can still continue to use the drive, just plug the drive into a USB port and enter your PIN like you normally would.
The drive will remain locked, and you will need to re-enter your PIN. After 5 unsuccessful user PIN entry attempts, your Flash Padlock will be disabled for 2 minutes. The red LED will blink to indicate the unit has been locked.
After 2 minutes, you can attempt to unlock your Flash Padlock.
A Master PIN allows you to unlock the drive if you have forgotten your User PIN, when using your master PIN the user PIN will be reset, here is how to set it up:
1. Double press KEY button. On 2nd press of KEY button, press and hold down KEY button for 3 seconds. (Green and red LEDs will illuminate. After 2nd KEY button release. (Green and red LEDs will blink twice)
2. Enter desired master PIN. Master PIN can be 4-10 digits long.
3. Press and release KEY button. (Green and red LEDs will blink)
4. Re-enter master PIN.
5. Press and release KEY button. (Green LED will double blink if successful)
Unlocking your Flash Padlock with a master PIN will erase the user PIN setting. The content on the drive will NOT be deleted and the drive will not be secure.
1. Double press KEY button. (Green and red LEDs will double blink)
2. Enter Master PIN using PIN keys.
3. Press and release KEY button. (Green LED will double blink)
4. Drive is now unlocked and unsecure and user PIN has been reset.
If you lose your user PIN, you’ll need to reset the Flash Padlock, but all the data on the drive will be COMPLETELY ERASED. (If you have a Master PIN set, please proceed to the section below to recover use of your drive without erasing your stored data)
1. Press and hold KEY and 0/1 buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds.
2. NOTE ALL DATA WILL BE LOST UPON COMPLETION OF THIS STEP. Enter 9-1-1 using the PIN keys and then press the KEY button. The Flash Padlock will now be unlocked and all data will be lost.
3. Connect Flash Padlock to a USB port and format the drive.
4. Your user PIN has been erased and your Flash Padlock is unlocked. Please set a new PIN to secure your data.
If your Flash Padlock has a master PIN, you may recover the use of your drive and gain access to your data.
1. Double press the KEY button.
2. Enter master PIN using PIN keys.
3. NOTE USER PIN WILL BE DELETED UPON COMPLETION OF THIS STEP, BUT DATA WILL STILL BE AVAILABLE. Press KEY button.
4. Your drive will be unlocked and ready for use.
We recommend resetting your PIN to secure the data on your drive. The drive will stay unlocked and your data will not be protected until a user PIN is created.
This is a limitation of the file system that the flash drive uses (FAT32) which limits the single file size to ~3.75GB. In order to transfer anything larger, a NTFS file system must be used. Instructions on how to format to this file system can be found here: http://www.ntfs.com/quest22.htm
NOTE: MacOS, Linux and Windows 9x (including ME) do not natively support the NTFS file system. Also, we would recommend that you manually eject the drive by selecting the “safely remove hardware” icon in your system tray when using the NTFS file system on a removable drive.
Please try the device on another machine to make sure that your USB controller is responding properly. If it still doesn’t work on another machine, we’ll be happy to replace the flash drive for you.
If this happens on multiple computers, try to format your drive by opening the command prompt (Start/Run/type “CMD”) and typing "Format X: /FS:FAT32 /U" (X = the drive letter assigned to the Flash Voyager). Please note that this will erase all data on the drive, so make sure that you select the correct drive. If this still doesn’t work, we’ll have to replace the device for you.
We’re sorry that your drive has failed, and we’re happy to replace it for you. Unfortunately, we’re unable to offer a data recovery service at this time.
