The CORSAIR SABRE v3 PRO PureVector Series is the successor to the SABRE v2 PRO lineup, and while the two generations share a name and a competitive FPS focus, the changes underneath go well beyond a spec bump. The SABRE v2 PRO Series shipped as three symmetrical mice, ULTRALIGHT, MG, and CF, built around a mechanical switch and the MARKSMAN S sensor. The SABRE v3 PRO PureVector Series expands the lineup by adding an Ergo shape to each material, swaps in a new optical switch and sensor, and introduces PureVector, a new personalized aim-calibration in partnership with Aimlabs.
Here's a breakdown of what changed between the two generations, followed by a closer look at how each individual shell evolved from SABRE v2 PRO to SABRE v3 PRO PureVector.
This is the headline addition and the biggest functional difference between the two generations. The SABRE v2 PRO Series has no calibration layer beyond standard DPI and sensitivity settings. The SABRE v3 PRO PureVector Series introduces PureVector, a personalized calibration technology in partnership with Aimlabs that analyzes how an individual player naturally moves the mouse and adjusts sensitivity to account for their personalized directional aiming bias. Built on a patented algorithm and more than 4 billion data points, PureVector improves Aim Speed by up to 81ms, a 33% improvement. Calibration runs once through the Aimlabs app, and the calibration is saved directly to the mouse's onboard firmware, so no companion app needs to stay open afterward. Nothing comparable exists on the SABRE v2 PRO Series, creating a meaningful upgrade for the successor.
SABRE v2 PRO Series used the CORSAIR MARKSMAN S optical sensor, tracking up to 33,000 DPI with 750 IPS tracking speed and 50G of acceleration. SABRE v3 PRO PureVector Series moves to the CORSAIR MARKSMAN X sensor, which raises those figures to 42,000 DPI with 99.7% resolution accuracy, 800 IPS tracking speed, and 70G of acceleration. The jump in IPS and acceleration headroom means the v3 PRO sensor has more margin to stay accurate during fast, high-speed swipes than the v2 PRO's sensor.
Both generations rate their switches for up to 100 million clicks, but the underlying mechanism changed. The SABRE v2 PRO Series used custom-tuned mechanical switches for tactile feedback. The SABRE v3 PRO PureVector Series moves to optical switches, where actuation is triggered optically rather than mechanically for near-zero-lag performance, removing pre-travel and mechanical debounce delay from the equation. The v3 PRO Series also adds an optical scroll wheel encoder for more consistent scrolling, a component not available on the v2 PRO Series.
Both generations offer the same great 8,000Hz hyper-polling rate in wired and wireless modes. What's new on the SABRE v3 PRO PureVector Series is a Nordic 54-series MCU that delivers faster click latency, with an average of 0.25ms across both connection types. The top-line polling number is unchanged, but the v3 PRO Series' hardware is built to register clicks faster and more consistently.
The SABRE v3 PRO PureVector Series carries over the symmetrical shape from the SABRE v2 PRO Series and builds on it with a new option. The SABRE v2 PRO Series shipped in a symmetrical shape only, across all three shells, for three mice total. The SABRE v3 PRO PureVector Series keeps the same symmetrical shape across ULTRALIGHT, MG, and CF, then adds a new sculpted Ergo shape to each material, bringing the lineup to six mice total. The Ergo versions target players who use palm or claw grips and want more built-in hand support over long sessions, while the symmetrical versions remain suited to fingertip or claw grip styles.
Connectivity options are largely unchanged between generations. In both the SABRE v2 PRO and SABRE v3 PRO PureVector Series, the MG and CF shells support tri-mode connectivity, while the ULTRALIGHT model sticks to 2.4GHz wireless and wired USB-C without Bluetooth. Both series are also configured through CORSAIR Web Hub, a browser-based tool that doesn't require any software installation. So there's no change to the connectivity options or customization workflow.
ULTRALIGHT
Battery life sees its biggest jump anywhere in the lineup on the ULTRALIGHT shell. SABRE v2 PRO ULTRALIGHT runs up to 70 hours at 1,000Hz polling (up to 25 hours at 8,000Hz); SABRE v3 PRO PureVector ULTRALIGHT doubles that to up to 140 hours. That gain comes alongside the move to optical switches and the MARKSMAN X sensor, which add a gram to the shell: 37g for the symmetrical version and 41g for the new ULTRALIGHT Ergo, up from 36g on the v2 PRO.

MG
The MG shell gets lighter and lasts longer at the same time. SABRE v2 PRO MG sits at 56g with up to 120 hours of battery life at 1,000Hz polling (up to 31 hours at 8,000Hz); SABRE v3 PRO PureVector MG drops to 49g (55g for the new MG Ergo) and pushes battery life up to 200 hours. The new sensor, optical switches, and added Ergo option would typically add weight, but the v3 PRO MG still comes in lighter than its predecessor.

CF
The CF shell picks up the same battery gains as MG. SABRE v2 PRO CF weighs 55g with up to 120 hours of battery life at 1,000Hz polling (up to 31 hours at 8,000Hz); SABRE v3 PRO PureVector CF weighs 48g (54g for the new CF Ergo) and reaches up to 200 hours, the same runtime as the MG line. Both generations of the CF shell include a carrying case in the box.

The SABRE v2 PRO Series and SABRE v3 PRO PureVector Series solve for the same core need (a lightweight, wireless FPS mouse with a fast sensor and reliable switches), but the v3 PRO Series adds more ways to get there.
PureVector brings a personalized calibration layer that didn't exist on the previous generation, the optical switch and MARKSMAN X sensor raise the performance ceiling, and the addition of Ergo give an enhanced comfortable option alongside the familiar symmetrical shape.
Anyone comparing the two lines is largely choosing between the v2 PRO Series' simpler, symmetrical-only lineup and the v3 PRO PureVector Series' wider range of shapes, enhanced hardware, and PureVector. Check out the full SABRE v2 PRO and SABRE v3 PRO PureVector lineups to find the right one.
