What truly distinguishes the WARTHOG is its unique military-inspired aesthetic, setting it apart from most mid-tower chassis available today. However, its internal structure and layout closely resemble that of one of our best-selling cases from the past year, the FRAME 4000D.
As a compact mid-tower PC case, the FRAME 4000D’s internal layout is one of the most well-thought-out and surprisingly versatile in terms of cooling that you can find on the market. And this is one of the reasons why many of its design concepts were carried over to the WARTHOG Case, making it not only visually striking but also high-performing. Before diving into the specifics, let’s compare their specifications side by side.

Notice how both case’ detailed specs are very similar? They might look very different from the outside, but believe it or not, WARTHOG’s and FRAME 4000D’s internal feature set and structure are almost identical - that’s because their internal structure and layout share the same DNA, with just a few minor differences. Let’s break them down and highlight what those are.
WARTHOG
FRAME 4000D
Let's start with the things that make the WARTHOG and FRAME 4000D more alike than different.
The CORSAIR FRAME 4000D case is one of the first PC case to support motherboards with reverse connectors. This design allows all power and data cables from your components to be neatly tucked away behind the motherboard, eliminating clutter in the front. Since this is MB orientation has become trendy in recent years (for good reasons), it makes perfect sense for CORSAIR cases, like the WARTHOG, to embrace this trend and provide users with the functionality they want.

As you can see on the image above, both cases have openings on top, right side, and bottom of the motherboard tray. Those are the channel where you would route the different cables, like 24-pin, 8-pin, USB 3.0, etc, giving your PC a much cleaner look because all the connectors are hidden.
The CORSAIR FRAME series case is all about modularity, which means you can easily swap out parts to match your style and needs. Both the WARTHOG and FRAME 4000D share this cool feature, letting you remove the motherboard tray so you can switch it up with a different design or functionality whenever you want.
Showcasing your fancy, high-performance GPU is a big flex for any PC builder, gamer, or streamer to highlight their setup, whether on social media or during live streams. Cases with vertical GPU support are ideal for this reason, allowing you to display your entire PC setup in style - because it’s all about making a statement.

Both cases come with 7 PCIe slots for your standard horizontal GPU setup, but they also let you show off your graphics card vertically with 3 PCIe slots. So, if you've got one of those hefty 40/50 series cards, you can easily mount it in vertical orientation. And not to mention, both cases have enough clearance to accommodate GPUs up to 430mm in length.
Speaking of those massive GPUs packed with the latest tech, it's no surprise that they can generate quite a bit of heat. This means they often come with large heatsinks, which can add to their overall weight. If you're rocking an NVIDIA 40/50 series or AMD 9000 series GPU, you might notice they're a bigger than conventional cards. Because of that, go with a case with a GPU anti-sag arm, as it prevents the graphics card from sagging, which can lead to damage over time, not only to the card itself but also to the PCIe slot on your motherboard.

One of the most underrated features found exclusively in our cases is the Infinity Rail, or INFINIRAIL. This innovative design offers a flexible approach to mounting fans and radiators. Initially introduced in the 9000D RGB Airflow, the Infinity Rail can now also be found in the FRAME 5000D series, FRAME 4500X, FRAME 4000D series, and the WARTHOG.

The entire mounting system simplifies the installation of cooling components, such as case fans and radiators, offering greater adaptability compared to traditional fixed-fan brackets, giving PC builders a much smoother and more efficient building experience.
Going back to the modularity aspect of the FRAME 4000D, the side fan mount feature falls under that For a compact mid-tower case, the ability to add three 120mm fans on the side is a godsend, especially if you have components that doesn’t shy away from pumping out a lot of heat in a case that has very limited space - every CFM matters. The WARTHOG case also offers this option. However, since it is optional, the decision to utilize it is entirely yours, whether for improved airflow or aesthetic purposes.

Now, let’s go over the differences between the two cases, other than the obvious overall dimension and external design.
One of the minor updates on the WARTHOG from the FRAME 4000D is that he front bottom section of the case has a grated tri-spoke vent design. This update not only enhances airflow from the bottom of the case but also serves as a signature aesthetic element unique to CORSAIR cases.

Both cases come with a removable PSU shroud, but they have different designs. Since it's modular, you can totally decide whether to keep it in place or swap it out for something else that fits your style. But note that - if you take off the PSU shroud, you might limit your options for adding extra fans. Both the WARTHOG and FRAME 4000D shrouds have 2x 120mm fan mounts on top for some extra cooling for your GPU!

WARTHOG
This part of the FRAME 4000D is optional, which speak to its modularity - either you use the side fan shroud, the fan rail, or neither, totally up to you. In contrast, the WARTHOG case comes exclusively with the fan rail and does not include the side shroud. You have the option to keep the fan rail on the side for mounting fans or to remove it entirely.

WARTHOG
While it may seem like a minor detail, it's worth noting the differences between the two cases for the sake of transparency. Both the FRAME 4000D and the WARTHOG feature an SSD mounting plate located behind the CPU backplate.
The difference is: the FRAME 4000D’s plate has a little indent made just for the iCUE LINK System Hub. On the flip side, the WARTHOG not only has that same indent for the iCUE LINK Hub, but it also gives you extra room for the iCUE LINK 4-Way Signal Splitter. This splitter has four iCUE LINK device ports, so you can easily connect more iCUE LINK devices to a single port on the iCUE LINK System Hub.
While these two cases may appear quite different on the surface, they are fundamentally the same at their core. Both share identical features and functionalities, differing only in their outer design.
