How to Customize Dial Lighting on the GALLEON 100 SD

Last updated:

The CORSAIR GALLEON 100 SD features two integrated rotary dials that combine precise physical control with customizable RGB lighting. These dials are fully supported by Windows Dynamic Lighting, allowing users to adjust their illumination through a streamlined, system-level interface without relying on heavyweight desktop software.

This guide explains how Windows Dynamic Lighting works with the GALLEON 100 SD and walks through the steps for accessing Windows Dynamic Lighting, adjusting dial lighting, selecting effects, and assigning colors.

What Is Windows Dynamic Lighting?

Windows Dynamic Lighting is a built-in Windows feature that allows compatible RGB devices to be controlled through the windows settings. Instead of managing RGB lighting across multiple applications, Dynamic Lighting centralizes effects, colors, and brightness into one area.

On the GALLEON 100 SD, Dynamic Lighting can be accessed through the Stream Deck app or the Windows Settings, which manages lighting for the keyboard’s full LCD module and rotary dials. This approach keeps lighting control lightweight, responsive, and tightly integrated with the rest of the Stream Deck ecosystem.

How to Access Dynamic Lighting for the Rotary Dials

There are two different ways to access Windows Dynamic Lighting, through the Stream Deck App and through the Windows Settings. First up: Stream Deck App.

  1. Solid Color: This is the default setting, that only displays one static color of a user’s choice. Users can also enable “Match my Windows accent color” to automatically sync the dials with their system-wide personalization.
  2. Breathing: Both dials will fade in/out on a singular color selected by the user and by adjusting the speed slider users can adjust how fast the color fades.
  3. Rainbow: Cycle the RGB lighting through the colors in the rainbow. There is also a speed slider that adjusts the effect of the color change, and a direction tab that adjusts if the dials start with Red or Violet.
  4. Wave: Sets a wave like animation to cycle between a main and second color set by the user. With the direction tab uses can change what direction the wave will animate in.
  5. Wheel: Set a circular animation around the dials changing the colors between a main and second color selected. Users can also change the animation to be clockwise or counterclockwise.
  6. Gradient: This is the only effect that allows users to set an individual color for each dial. When selecting the colors, the main color controls the left dial and the second color controls the right dial.
