Mount Fans Fast in the FRAME 4000D with InfiniRail

Last updated:

The FRAME 4000D offers plenty of ways to add fans and radiators to its roomy interior, ensuring great airflow to your components. Whether you're using AIO radiators, standard case fans, or a custom cooling loop, there are lots of options available.

One of the easiest and most flexible ways to add fans to the front of the case is by using the InfiniRail Fan Mounts, which clip into the InfiniRail system. These make installing and repositioning fans easier, letting you place them exactly where you want. The obvious question is: how do you use them, and what benefits do they offer?

If you have the FRAME 4000D RS or FRAME 4000D RS ARGB, the front-mounted fans included with the case already use the InfiniRail system. But if you're swapping out those fans or if you have the base model with no fans preinstalled, it's worth quickly going over how these fan mounts work.

Instead of screwing fans directly into the limited selection of holes typically found in cases, you attach your fans to movable mounting brackets. This lets you fine-tune the fan positions before locking them in place.

How to Install Fans with InfiniRail

Start by setting the size of your fans by adjusting the distance between the InfiniRails. The top supports 120mm and 140mm fans, while the front supports 120mm, 140mm, and 200mm fans. Loosen the screws that control the spacing between the rails, then move them into place using the markings on the case as a guide.

Once that's done, clip the fan mounts onto the rails by anchoring the inner edge of each bracket first, then snapping the outer edge into place. The countersunk hole for attaching the fan should be facing you, as shown in the image below.

Use four brackets per fan, two on each side of the InfiniRails. Once they're clipped into place, you can slide the brackets along the rails to get everything lined up.

Mount the fans by placing them against the rear of the brackets and securing them with the included self-tapping screws or the ones that came with your fans. You can then lock the setup in place using standard motherboard screws.
