Legit Reviews gives the Corsair P256 SSD the Editor's Choice Award

When Corsair entered the SSD market in January 2009 they didn't even send out review samples as the drives were nothing special; those days are long gone with the P256 as it is clearly one of the fastest MLC drives on the market today.

Hexus reviews the Corsair P256 SSD

Corsair's P256 256GB SSD is an ultra-fast SSD whose merits can only be exploited by the user who's high on multitasking. Strong in most areas and competitively priced - if 550 can be thought of as being competitive - it's currently the drive we'd purchase for our ultimate system, based on the criteria of capacity and performance.

Tweak Town values the Corsair P256 SSD Drive

The Corsair P256 has nearly the same performance ias the Intel M Series drives, has more capacity and a better cost per gigabyte of space. The initial sticker shock will wear off around 15 seconds after hitting the power button.

Corsair Performance Pro 256 SSD gets both "Dam Good" and "Dam Innovative" award at Hardware Canucks

"Corsair really has something here, particularly when it comes to price. This isn’t the least expensive SSD on the market (far from it actually) but it can easily be found for under $400 and doesn’t come with all of the latent issues SandForce-based drives have been experiencing as of late. If Corsair ever manages to bring the cost down to the M4’s level, Crucial will have a lot to worry about. By combining high performance, a TRIM-agnostic garbage collection feature and the adaptability for numerous environments, the Performance Pro is one of the best all-round drives we’ve seen in a while. The only real issue for some will be the current lack of higher capacity models. "

The Tech Report picks Corsair P256 SSD over OCZ and others

In the end, only three of the SSDs we looked at today are strong enough to earn TR Recommended distinction. The Samsung PB22-J and its Corsair twin aren't quite as quick as the X25-M overall, and with these 256GB models running about $700, they're not as affordable. However, a low cost per gigabyte combined with frugal power consumption and solid performance makes these drives easy to recommend.
