CORSAIR Keyboards – Changing the Game, Changing Their Names

With the launch of the CORSAIR VANGUARD 96 and CORSAIR VANGUARD PRO 96 Gaming Keyboards, you might be wondering… “These keyboards seem like they’re evolutions of the K70 line, why don’t they have the K70 name?” Well, it’s a good thing you asked. Here’s an Explorer article that will explain that exact point.

As we and Linus have previously detailed before, the legendary K70 is regarded as one of the first gaming keyboards. Just take one look at the VANGUARD 96 series, and you can see that these keyboards stand as indisputably innovative advances in the gaming keyboard space.

A full-sized keyboard with a numpad that is almost the same size as a TKL!? Plus, it features an eye-popping LCD screen, a rotary dial, and G-keys. It is a bold step forward, one that needed a name to match the level of distinction that these keyboards obviously have.

And so, VANGUARD 96 and VANGUARD PRO 96 are leading the charge of innovation in the keyboard space as well as for CORSAIR’s new keyboard naming scheme. The new names for CORSAIR keyboards will see the old K+[number] names phased out in favor of the new scheme which integrates a descriptive product name and the keyboard form factor.
