How to Stop CORSAIR RAM From Lighting Up When PC is Off

RGB lighting is fun and it can add a cool vibe to your gaming setup, but eventually the PC will have to switched off, and it can be annoying if stuff continues to light up. RAM is the most common culprit here as it remains powered sometimes, especially if the PC is merely in standby mode.

Device Memory Mode

If you want the lighting of your CORSAIR RGB memory to turn off whenever you power off your computer, you can do it by setting up Device Memory Mode (previously known as Hardware Lighting) in iCUE.

There are two options to do this. The first option should work for most people. However, if it does not disable RGB LEDs when your computer is sleeping or turned off, try the second option instead, which is a more effective workaround.

  • NOTE: Make sure iCUE is updated to version 4 or newer.

Option 1: Remove Default Lighting

Your first option is to remove the default lighting option and not add any additional lighting options.

  1. Open iCUE.
  2. Hover your mouse over your RGB memory on the home screen and select Lighting Effects.
  3. Toggle the Device Memory Mode switch located here

4. Delete the default lighting option.

  1. Open iCUE.
  2. Hover your mouse over your RGB memory on the home screen and select Lighting Effects.
  3. Toggle the Device Memory Mode switch located here:
