BUILD IT QUIETER
FAST DOESN’T HAVE TO MEAN LOUD.
NOBODY LIKES A LOUD PC
We know that to build a great, quiet machine you have to plan ahead. That means selecting the right parts and configuring them for silence. So whether you’re building a new system or if you’d just like to make your existing PC a bit less loud, here are a few tips and tricks that might help you out.
CASESIF A CASE ISOLATES THE NOISY PARTS, ARE THEY STILL NOISY?
The right case can tame even the loudest PCs.
You’ll want a design that can muffle sound but still provide ample cooling so that your internal components won’t overheat and your fans don’t run overtime.
BAFFLED AIR VENTILATIONIF NOISE IS REDIRECTED,YOU WON’T HEAR IT.
Holes in your case are great for airflow and terrible for noise. Use a case with solid panels and ducted intake and exhausts, especially in the front and on the top, to divert sound away from your ears.

SOUND DAMPING MATERIALADDING MASS ALWAYS HELPS.
High density foam can stifle vibrations and dampen any noise transferring out of your case.
FEATURED PRODUCT: CARBIDE SERIES 600Q
DIRECT AIRFLOW PATHEFFICIENT COOLING, LOW TURBULENCE.
Your hottest components usually require the most cooling, meaning they’re typically the loudest. To keep your GPU and CPU fans running calm and quiet, make sure your case has a Direct Airflow Path™ from the front intake straight to the CPU and GPU.

it’s cooler underwater
Cooling your hottest components is critical to keeping system noise down. Your GPU and CPU can produce hundreds of watts of heat, and that heat is most often dissipated by cranking up the fan speed, making everything louder.
CPU & GPUTHE HOTTEST PARTS NEED THE MOST ATTENTION.
At CORSAIR we have a different view. Our liquid coolers efficiently cool your computer, quieting down your whole PC and in turn providing massive headroom for overclocking

radiator size mattersTHERMODYNAMIC LAWS ARE CLEARWHEN IT COMES TO COOLING.
When liquid absorbs the heat from the CPU or GPU, it then needs to get rid of that heat. A large radiator exchanges heat with the surrounding air to provide excellent heat transfer. A larger radiator has more heat capacity, while a smaller radiator is usually easier to fit in a smaller case.

Efficient, powerful fans are essential, but even more important is the ability to control them with Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). All of our i-series liquid coolers feature PWM fans and CORSAIR Link™ software so you can easily choose the right noise level for your situation.

the strong, silent type of power
Every PC needs power, and this is often an overlooked source of noise. A quiet power supply can keep your system near silent even at insanely high loads. But what makes one quieter than another?
LOW NOISE FANSQUIET POWER SUPPLIES.
The only moving part in a power supply is its fan, so it stands to reason that quieter fans lead to quieter power supplies. Our RM, HX, and AX families use high end fans with super quiet Rifle, Fluid Dynamic, or Ball bearings to keep noise down.
FEATURED PRODUCTS: RM1000i PSU
HIGH EFFICIENCYQUIET POWER SUPPLIES.
And to keep the fan quiet, a more efficient power supply is useful. More efficiency means less heat wasted, and that means quieter fans. Our RMx and higher units are all at least 80 PLUS® Gold certified for up to 90% efficiency.
not all fansare created equal
Fans with quiet components like the Magnetic Levitation bearings in our ML series produce less noise than similar fans at the same RPM.
PWM CONTROLWHY STICK WITH ONE SPEEDWHEN YOU CAN HAVE ALL OF THEM?
Fans with a wide RPM range and PWM control let you choose between silent or high airflow operation.
