Resident Evil Requiem System Requirements and Recommended Specs

We've had a great year for the survival horror genre. We got a stunning new entry in the Silent Hill franchise with Silent Hill f, and in June, Resident Evil Requiem was announced. It’s not out until February 2026, but the System Requirements are already here. So, let’s take a look to see if your PC can handle a return to Raccoon City.

Resident Evil Requiem Recommended Specs

  • OS: Windows 11 (64-bit)
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-8700 / AMD Ryzen 5 5500
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 Super 8 GB / AMD Radeon RX 6600 8 GB
  • RAM: 16 GB

Resident Evil Requiem Minimum Specs

  • OS: Windows 11 (64-bit)
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-8500 / AMD Ryzen 5 3500
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 6GB / AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB
  • RAM: 16 GB

At time of writing, no install size is given, but the previous entry, Resident Evil Village is about 35–50GB, depending on texture quality, so perhaps clear out 50GB just in case. If you’re really up to the limit of your storage, we’d recommend a capacious 4TB MP700 PRO XT, as it’s the fastest SSD in our lineup.

Can I run Resident Evil Requiem?

Happily, the requirements to play Resident Evil Requiem aren’t too high, calling for a six-year-old GPU. This infers some impressive optimization, as the game looks convincingly disgusting, which is a good thing for this genre.

We have a few recommendations, however. Firstly, as usual, is to go above the 16GB RAM requirement and upgrade to 32GB. Increasing the amount of RAM helps everything run more smoothly in your PC, not just games. A kit of DOMINATOR TITANIUM RGB is good for those who want top tier memory, but for those still limited to DDR4, 32GB of VENGEANCE RGB PRO is still a strong choice, and notably more affordable, too.

After that, this is the type of game where immersion is absolutely crucial and the best way to increase this is with a better gaming monitor and a better headset.

Given the inevitably dark and moody environments, an OLED monitor is the superior choice, with the uniquely self-illuminating pixels result in perfect contrast and clarity that really does make a difference. Furthermore, a curved monitor more effectively fills the periphery of your vision, pulling you into the game even more. Luckily you don’t have to pick between curved and OLED with CORSAIR because we have two choices with both features. The XENEON FLEX actually allows you to choose how curved it is, whereas the XENEON 34WQHD240-C QD-OLED is more affordable and has a slightly higher pixel density due to being a little smaller.

For audio, we’d recommend the VOID v2 MAX Wireless if you also like to play competitive multiplayer games, too, as the closed back design makes it better for positional audio. Alternatively, the VIRTUOSO PRO is better if you prefer single-player games as the open back design is a bit more immersive.

What Kind of Game is Resident Evil Requiem?

The Resident Evil franchise can be split into three distinct eras: Fixed camera, third-person, and first-person. The early games way back on the PS1 were played from the perspective of a camera mounted in the environment, which made them more movie-adjacent experiences, not to mention a lot harder to control.

With the release of the now-legendary Resident Evil 4, these games switched to a third-person over-the-shoulder camera, which made aiming and movement a lot easier, but traded out pure horror for a more liberal mix of horror and action.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard switched these games to first-person. Considered by many to be the perfect perspective for immersive horror and ease of control and aiming. You get the precision of an FPS, with the narrower field of view that makes jump scares more effective and the feeling of being watched more uncomfortable.

Due to the critical and commercial success of Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil Village continued with the first-person perspective and so does Resident Evil Requiem. This one takes us back to Raccoon City for a spot of familiar nostalgia, departing from the isolated, bucolic, and disconcerting setting of the previous two games.

In terms of actual gameplay, we’re probably looking at the same sense of exploration and puzzle solving, punctuated with a mixture of shooting and melee combat. Over the course of the game, the protagonist, Grace Ashcroft, is slowly pursued by a monster. This appears to take a leaf out of Alien: Isolation’s book, which we’re looking forward to as that game was refreshingly scary. We also hope to see the long, uncomfortably quiet periods from the last two, as they really amped up the anxiety which made for a top notch horror experience.
