At time of writing, CORSAIR sells two types of memory; DDR4 and DDR5. Within those two memory types are two families of memory based on performance and features; VENGEANCE and DOMINATOR. Once you dive into those memory families there are an additional two types:
DDR5
DDR4
Each type of memory is notably different from the others, so here's how they all stack up to each other.
We'll start with our DDR5 offerings, as they're the highest perfoming modules we have, and what you should be aiming for (As long as your motherboard / CPU support it)
This is standard high-quality memory with no RGB and a low profile, making it ideal for blackout builds and systems with a tall CPU air cooler where the fan might interfere with a RAM stick in slot #1. This is affordable, mainstream, high-performance, no-bling memory for any PC build.
CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5
Standout features include:
This memory includes onboard voltage regulation and comes in speeds ranging from DDR5-4400 to DDR5-8000, and features a standard aluminum heat spreader for thermal management. These memory sticks are available with AMD EXPO and Intel XMP one-click overclocking, and XMP profiles can also be customized. CUDIMM versions are also available for Intel Core Ultra CPUs. Available kit capacities range from 16GB to 128GB.
This memory is the same as “regular” VENGEANCE so it also includes onboard voltage regulation but it offers slightly higher performance options and sports addressable 10-zone RGB lighting. Its RGB light bars are a bit taller than the non-RGB version, so it’s best for use on systems with all-in-one liquid CPU coolers as those won’t interfere with RAM clearance due to the compact size of the water block/pump assembly.
CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB DDR5
Standout features include:
This memory comes in speeds ranging from DDR5-5200 to DDR5-8200, and in CUDIMM versions for Intel Core Ultra systems ranging from DDR5-8000 to DDR5-9200. It features a standard aluminum heat spreader for thermal management. These memory sticks are available with AMD EXPO and Intel XMP for one-click overclocking, and Intel systems can also customize the XMP profiles as well. Available kit capacities range from 16GB to 128GB.
Now we are moving into a premium category of RAM with onboard voltage regulation, hand-tested modules, sophisticated cooling and design, and elaborate RGB lighting. DOMINATOR PLATINUM is memory made for running at high clock speeds with low temps, featuring premium craftsmanship and unique lighting.
This memory is hand-tested and made with custom circuit boards with onboard voltage regulation to ensure consistent signal integrity for stable overclocking. It is offered in clock speeds (or mega transfers) ranging from DDR5-5200 to DDR5-7800 in both 32GB and 64GB capacities.
CORSAIR DOMINATOR PLATINUM DDR5
Standout features include:
The RGB lighting is a 12-zone design with vertical bars visible from the side and the top of the heat spreader, with CORSAIR CAPELLIX LEDs providing bright illumination with very low energy consumption, which also helps keeps overall temperatures low.
Speaking of low temperatures, DOMINATOR PLATINUM also features CORSAIR’s patented DHX cooling system, which stands for Dual-path Heat eXchange. This patented technology lets heat dissipate from the memory both vertically through fins and horizontally through the printed circuit board (PCB). To achieve this CORSAIR has designed custom circuit boards that allow heat to move from the embedded memory chips to the aluminum heatsinks. Lower memory temps allow for higher clocks, better stability, and increased performance.
These memory sticks are available with AMD EXPO and Intel XMP one-click overclocking, and XMP profiles can also be customized. It is not offered in CUDIMM versions. Available capacities include 32GB or 64GB.
This is CORSAIR’s flagship memory, with onboard voltage regulation, high clocks, sophisticated aesthetics, superior cooling, and the ability to customize the RGB lighting with removable light bars. This memory is for PC builders who want the best memory CORSAIR has to offer for top-tier builds with a refined look that’s not super flashy, but more on the classy side.
CORSAIR DOMINATOR TITANIUM DDR5
Standout features include:
These memory sticks are all hand-tested for consistently high clock speeds and stable operation, and are offered in speeds ranging from DDR5-6000 to DDR5-7600 in capacities ranging from 32GB to 96GB. They are not offered in CUDIMM versions. They are available with AMD EXPO and Intel XMP one-click overclocking, and XMP profiles can be customized as well.
What really sets the TITANIUM sticks apart from PLATINUM is the RGB lighting, as it’s looks different, and it’s also customizable via removable light bars. While PLATINUM features individually visible RGB LEDs, on TITANIUM a diffusion layer sits on top of the 11 LEDs for a more diffuse look instead of seeing the individual LEDs. Also, you can remove the light bars and replace them with a different light bar, or 3D print your own.
CORSAIR DOMINATOR TITANIUM Wave Accessory Kit
So far CORSAIR has launched a Wave Accessory Kit (above) which features a gold triangle pattern on the sides and RGB on top, and a non-RGB Fin accessory kit as well, giving users several options for lighting, or no lighting.
This memory also includes the aforementioned DHX thermal solution to keep the RAM sticks cool even when overclocked, and it features a die-cast aluminum exterior for enhanced durability and cooling.
Most of our DDR4 memory is at end-of-life status currently, as the computing world has largely moved on to DDR5, and a lot of memory manufacturers are no longer making new DDR4 memory modules. We are still selling DDR4 but have sold out of our high-end inventory as those customers have also moved onto DDR5 as well. As this is being written in July 2025, our DDR4 stock is rapidly depleting, so if you read this in the future and we no longer have any DDR4 memory for sale, it should not be a surprise.
CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR4
Like the DDR5 variant, this is our mainstream offering without RGB, so this is high-quality memory with a low-profile design that is perfect for air-cooled builds since it won’t get in the way of a fan extending over the first DIMM slot.
This memory is offered in speeds ranging from DDR4-2133 to DDR4-4000, and is compatible with both AMD and Intel systems. Available capacities range from 8GB to 128GB.
CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB PRO SL DDR4
This memory includes glorious RGB lighting and a smaller-than-normal form factor for builds with CPU air coolers where clearance could be an issue. It’s essentially a more compact version of the VENGEANCE RGB Pro, which we’ll cover next.
It features 10-zone RGB lighting with LEDs sprinkled throughout a one-piece top bar. It’s available in speeds ranging from DDR4-3200 to DDR4-4000 in capacities from 16GB to 128GB.
CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB PRO DDR4
This memory is essentially CORSAIR’s mainstream RGB DDR4 offering, with standard RAM height and a snazzy lightbar across the top for RGB lighting. These would be the sticks to get if you’re running an all-in-one (AIO) liquid CPU cooler.
It’s offered in more sizes and speeds than its smaller SL counterpart, with speeds ranging from DDR4-2666 to DDR4-4000, and capacities going from a mere 8GB all the way up to 128GB.
This memory is no longer being sold, but it was CORSAIR’s flagship DDR4 memory, with hand-tested memory chips guaranteed to run at tight timings and featuring a high-quality aluminum housing for a sleek look and better heat dissipation. It can be overclocked to DDR5 speeds of DDR4-4800, so it is made for those with a thirst for adventure.
This memory features CAPELLIX LED lighting for unique RGB lighting visible from the sides and the top and came in speeds ranging from DDR4-3200 to DDR4-4000. Available capacities ranged from 16GB to 64GB.
