Recommended PSU Table | GPU Power Requirements

更新

For a quick and easy way to see the PSU wattage for your CPU and GPU combo at a glance, refer to the table below. Simply locate your GPU and CPU Series and the intersection point between the two will show what wattage PSU you'll need. Note that this is not an exhaustive list, as not every CPU, nor every GPU is included.

Additionally, the wattage at the intersection is not just the TDP of the GPU and CPU series added together. It adds some additional wattage to account for other components (Fans, Coolers, M.2 Drives, RAM, etc), then is rounded up to the closest actual wattage that a PSU is available with. As satisfying as it would be to have an 837W PSU, no one makes those.

For a more comprehensive wattage amount, check out our PSU calculator. It will recommend a few options from the CORSAIR PSU range when you're finished.

For example, an RTX 5080 paired with an Intel Core i7 or AMD Ryzen 7 maps to 850W. An RTX 5090 paired with an Intel Core i9 or AMD Ryzen 9 maps to 1000W. These recommendations include additional system overhead and match available PSU sizes, rather than simply adding the CPU and GPU power ratings.

How to Choose the Right PSU Wattage

  • Match your GPU with the CPU tier in the table. Higher-power CPUs can increase the recommended PSU wattage. The recommended PSU wattage in the table accounts for what you'd find in a typical system such as cooling, storage, and memory. If you're adding additional extras, make sure to add extra headroom.
  • Leave extra capacity if you plan to overclock or upgrade to higher-power components.
  • Check the GPU power connector and cable requirements before selecting a PSU.
  • Choose a reliable PSU with an efficiency rating that fits your build and usage. Efficiency does not replace adequate wattage.
  • Use the PSU calculator to check for a specific GPU and CPU combination as well as instant compatible product recommendations.
