Best PSU for RTX 5070 Ti

更新

The RTX 5070 Ti is the exciting one in the RTX 50 series, as this card is not available as a Founders Edition directly from NVIDIA. Instead, you can get a card with this chip from your favorite brand with possibly different requirements. This also means that we have to take a closer look at the power demands and make sure to choose the right PSU to power your system.

Depending on which connector these cards use, we at CORSAIR have several solutions for you. It does not matter if the card you have picked uses the 12V-2x6 or relies on multiple PCIe 8-pin connectors. Heck, we even got you covered if there is a card that does both. Of course, we do not expect the cards to do this, but realistically we will see cards that use the 12V-2x6 for power.

First things first, let's take a look at the RTX 5070 Ti's system requirements, as provided to us by NVIDIA.

RTX 5070 Ti System Requirements

  • PCIe 5.0 x16 slot (For best performance)
  • 750W Power supply or greater.
  • 2x PCIe 8-pin cables (adapter in box) OR 300 W or greater PCIe Gen 5 cable

RTX 5070 Ti Power Requirements

The RTX 5070 Ti can be powered by a lower wattage power supply compared to its more powerful RTX 50-series siblings. It comes with a 300W TGP/TDP and therefore carries a 750W power supply recommendation.

Best PSU for RTX 5070 Ti: CORSAIR RM1000x SHIFT

1000W will not only happily power your system with a RTX 5070 Ti, but also has enough room for a future upgrade. The RM1000x SHIFT is ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 compliant and comes with a native 12V-2x6 connector. Leave the adapter cable in the box with your graphics card, you won't need it!

Best PSU for peace of mind: CORSAIR RM1200e

Looking for an extra safe PSU? Well the RM1200e may be just the ticket, it's an excellent combination of high power, quality components and a price that won't leave your wallet crying in the corner.

It has all the features you would want on a modern PSU: ATX 3.1, PCIe 5.1 and a native 12V-2x6 and 100% Japanese 105°C-rated capacitors.

However, what really makes it the best PSU for peace of mind is that it features our PinProtect OCP (Over Current Protection), a feature where the PSU monitors the current in real time and if the current exceeds a predefined threshold, it limits the power to protect your GPU. You can read much more about this in our What is PinProtect article.
