What can I use the XENEON EDGE for?

We built the XENEON EDGE to be as versatile and practical as possible. This is a fancy way of saying we designed it to remove as many limitations as possible so you can use the XENEON EDGE however you want. Let’s take a look at some of the ways you can utilize it.

Just to be clear: no, you do not need iCUE to use the XENEON EDGE. It is, at its core, simply a small 14.5" touchscreen monitor with a 2560x720 resolution. However, there are certain functions that you will need iCUE for. These functions are enabled via “Widgets”, and can be arranged on the XENEON EDGE via iCUE, allowing for specific actions and integrations with other services.

Additionally, we now have a bunch of additional widgets available on the Elgato Marketplace. All the CORSAIR-made ones are free, with other paid widgets available from community members.

Those who pride themselves in their PC building ability and system performance like to keep an eye on things. Due to the size of the XENEON EDGE and the wealth of sensor information iCUE can see, the sensor widgets are really handy.

There are three sensor widgets to choose from: "Sensor List", which maximises information density, "2 Sensors" which is best for at-a-glance monitoring, and "Sensor Chart", which allows you to see a live line graph, which gives you the most detail for a given sensor.

This one is for the keen multiplayer gamer. The FPS widget allows you to see a live readout of your FPS (Frames per Second) for whatever game you're playing, which is handy for adjusting your settings to reach desired performance.

The Ping widget is not included with iCUE, but can be installed at no additional cost from the widget section of the Elgato Marketplace. (there are many other cool XENEON EDGE widgets there, too.) This one gives you live data about your connection. You get current ping, average, minimum, and maximum. You also get to see live packet loss. All this allows you to see and diagnose bad connection during multiplayer games. You can also use the information from this widget to explain away your failure to clutch up last round.

This one needs no real explanation. It gives you live information, in addition to a forecast up to 10 days ahead for your current location. You also get sunrise and sundown times, plus windspeed.

And of course you can switch between celcius and fahrenheit, MPH and KPH, and 12-hour or 24-hour clocks. The information density scales with the size of the widget, so keep it small if you just want to know what its like outside right now, or maximize it if you need to plan an outdoor activity eight days from now.

Windows notifications on the main screen aren't usually very clear, they pop up and disappear super quickly. The Windows Notification widget for the XENEON EDGE is a lot easier.

The notifications arrive in chronological order, latest to oldest, and show clear, simplified information. You can then scroll through them, delete each one with a tap, or clear them all when it's time to ignore work for a bit.

This is one of the most intuitive uses of a touchscreen display. With the volume control widget, you no longer need to go into the system tray to adjust the volume. You can simply use your finger to move the volume slider around.

It shows all the different audio sources on your PC, too. This means you can quickly and easily modulate and mix all the audio whenever you like. Turn down the teams meeting, turn up the music. Turn down your teammates in Discord, turn up the game audio. All of it can be done in seconds via the Volume Control Widget.

When it comes to essential at-a-glance information, the time and date are at the top of the list. The calendar and clock widgets allow you to do that easily. The clock widget has various styles, too. Analog for the old-school folks out there and digital for those who need precision. (and yes, you can change the digital clocks to 24 hours if you're European)

This allows you to easily set a YouTube video or an entire YouTube playlist on the XENEON EDGE. This is great for a bit of background ambience, like watching a Let’s Play while you work. Or, if you’re trying to figure something out, having a YouTube tutorial play on the small screen while you follow along on your main screen can make life a lot easier.

This is one of the Widgets that the XENEON EDGE is just perfect for, especially if you're using it in vertical orientation. Once you set up the Twitch Widget, you can read, respond to, and indeed ignore all the messages from chat at your convenience without sacrificing any real estate from your main monitor.

This is one of the most versatile Widgets. This allows you to basically embed some or all of a certain webpage onto the XENEON EDGE, and because it’s embedded, it will continue to update and work just as the webpage would normally. However, you should note that some websites disable the use of iFrames in the name of security, so not all ideas will pan out.

One of the most versatile widgets is the Stream Deck Widget. This allows you to have all the capabilities of a Stream Deck, right there on the XENEON EDGE - all the way up to a 4x8 grid, totalling 32 buttons. This makes it equivalent to a Stream Deck XL. (Of course, you can add up to 9 more pages, so you can have up to 320 buttons total).

Initially, you'll get a few actions by default, but this is just the beginning. As this widget acts just like a real Stream Deck, you can populate it with anything you like, including anything found on the Elgato Marketplace. The only limitation here is that you cannot use any "Dial Actions" as these only work with the physical dials found on the Stream Deck +. Check out a fully-loaded example below.

To get started, download the Stream Deck software and install it. Then, when you open ICUE, and add the Stream Deck Widget to the XENEON EDGE. It will connect up with the Stream Deck software. From here, you simply drag and drop keys anywhere you want.

You can also customize the Stream Deck widget in iCUE by adding a still image or gif as the background. You can then adjust the transparency to make the background more subtle, or more prominent.

Those of you who already rock the double or triple-monitor lifestyle are already probably coming up with some ideas. Given that the XENEON EDGE is just a small monitor, it’s the perfect location for applications that don't need a full-size display.

Things like the Spotify or Youtube Music desktop app are perfect for the XENEON EDGE. The touchscreen allows you to pause, skip, and queue up more songs at a moment's notice.

You could also put MS Teams or Slack here to monitor notifications while you focus on more important things.

Discord is also a great candidate for the XENEON Edge. See who’s coming in and out of your channel, use the touchscreen to turn down that one guy whose mic is always a bit overzealous, and kick nuisance people with just a few dismissive, satisfying taps of your finger.

While the main window of your preferred benchmarking software is putting your PC to the test, you can position the live readouts of utilization and temps on the XENEON EDGE so you can monitor how everything is going without clicking all over the desktop and potentially skewing the results.
