HYDRO GFX 1080 Ti: High Performance. Premium Cooling.

By Chris Stolze, on 19 de abril de 2017

The Hydro GFX 1080 Ti continues our series of liquid-cooled graphics cards that allow you to easily take your gaming experience to the next level. By keeping the GPU cool with its pre-installed Hydro Series cooler, the Hydro GFX 1080 Ti maintains a consistent, high core clock speed thanks to NVIDIA’s GPU Boost 3.0 technology. We put this liquid-cooled beast to the test and compared it to a Founders Edition card in our lab.

Before we look at the benchmarks, here are the system specs of our test bench:
CPU - Intel Core i7-7700K @ 4.20GHz with H100i for cooling
DRAM - 32GB of Corsair Vengeance LED 3000MHz RAM
MB - ASUS Republic of Gamers Maximus IX Hero Z270 motherboard
SSD - Corsair Neutron XTi 240GB SSD
PSU - Corsair RM 650i power supply

Using a Corsair Commander Mini, we assigned the “Silent” cooling profile to the ML Series fan on the Hydro GFX 1080 Ti’s 120mm radiator and set it to ramp up as the graphics card warms up.

To monitor core clock speed and temperatures, we used MSI Afterburner to capture performance numbers for the entire session for each card tested.

Now with that out of the way, let’s look at the benchmarks!

Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation (Crazy Preset)

Unigine Heaven (Extreme Preset)

3DMark Time Spy

3DMark Fire Strike (Normal, Extreme, and Ultra)

But how fast is it? Let’s take a quick look at the core clock speeds over our run of Ashes of the Singularity.

The Hydro GFX 1080 Ti maintains a solid lead over the Founders Edition card, boosting to 1911MHz core clock while the Founders Edition falls behind at 1847.5MHz.
But that’s not the entire story, using that same run of Ashes of the Singularity as a reference, let’s check out our GPU temps.

At idle, the Hydro GFX 1080 Ti kept a cool 27 °C while the Founders Edition held at 52 °C. Once we added the monstrous load that is Ashes of the Singularity, our Hydro GFX 1080 Ti climbed up to 42 °C while the Founders Edition baked at a toasty 81 °C, about a 48% difference in temperature.

The Hydro GFX 1080 Ti raises the performance bar of our Hydro GFX series of graphics cards, offering high performance that keeps its cool through intense gaming sessions. The Hydro GFX 1080 Ti is available now at our web store.
