Magnetic switch technology has firmly established its position in the upper echelons of esports, redefining what competitive players expect from their hardware. However, this technology hasn’t stopped evolving.
CORSAIR has unlocked another level of input with our advanced suite of Hall Effect customizations. Debuting on the CLIPPER PRO MINI 60 and soon expanding across our Hall Effect keyboard lineup, including the VANGUARD PRO 96, this suite gives players more enhanced control and a competitive edge in their favorite games. Today we’re going to look at each of CORSAIR's next-gen Hall Effect features, and how they can help elevate your gameplay or improve your overall gaming experience.
Multi Action is a super-charged version of Dual Actuation. As the name implies, Dual Actuation allows you to map two different actions to one key. With CORSAIR’s Multi Action, this feature now expands to 4 distinct movements that you can map to a single key.
Different actions can be mapped and triggered at customizable intervals during:
In other words, you can map an action to pressing it halfway and fully “bottoming out” the press as well as actions for the switch traveling back upwards. This can be a real game-changer in certain situations. For example, if you’re holding Shift to zoom with your sniper rifle, but you hear someone rushing up to you, you can map a full release of Shift to swap weapons, letting you immediately engage with your CQC weapon.
If you're interested in getting the full details on how to set Multi Action up, we've got an article here that'll walk you through setup.
Ever finished a long gaming session where you had to hold down a button for crouch, sprint, or auto-advance text for hours because there wasn’t an in-game option to make that action a toggle? It doesn’t feel great! Your fingers weren’t meant to exert themselves like that for extended periods of time.
Tap Lock to the rescue! Change those taxing long-hold actions into toggles with Tap Lock and save your finger joints and tendons from unnecessary wear and tear.
Learn more about setting up Tap Lock in Web Hub in this article.
Smart Tap allows you to set two actuations on a key, one that triggers off of a tap, and a different one that triggers off of a hold. For example, you can set a key tap to do a dash, and then a hold for a sprint. Or, tap F5 to refresh a page, hold F5 to close the tab.
If you’re using a keyboard with a 60% form factor or smaller that gets rid of the arrow keys, you can set up Smart Tap in order to create a tap arrow key set up. The setup below allows you to give your CLIPPER PRO MINI 60 arrow keys without using a function key.
Want a full breakdown of how to set up Smart Tap? Check out this Explorer article for an in-depth guide of how to get it set up in CORSAIR Web Hub.
All these features and more are customizable via lightweight, web-based CORSAIR Web Hub. You can tune each of these features you want and even set up presets for different games and genres and save them directly to your CORSAIR keyboard’s onboard profiles.
With features like these, as well as Rapid Trigger and FlashTap SOCD, your keyboard’s never been able to do more to boost your rank.
