Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced System Requirements and Recommended Specs

The Assassin’s Creed series spent a lot of time front and center in the past, with yearly releases for a while that people couldn’t get enough of. As time went on though, the franchise needed to evolve and before it morphed into an open-world RPG, there was a curious jaunt over to… naval combat?

Yes, naval combat. In the original Assassin’s Creed Black Flag you spent a lot less time doing stealth stabbing and a lot more time sailing around the coast battling with other ships. Despite such a large departure from the norm, it quickly became many people’s favorite Assassin’s Creed game. After Ubisoft tried and failed to recapture that spirit with Skull and Bones, we now arrive at a remaster of Black Flag. So, let’s see if your PC has what it takes.

Can I run Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced?

It’s been 13 years since this game was originally released, and judging by the trailer and screenshots, they’ve given this remake a comprehensive makeover, hence the modern requirements. However, the specs aren’t super taxing for a 2026 game.

As with most graphically intense single-player games, your experience will be meaningfully improved by a new GPU the most. An Nvidia 50-series or AMD 9060 or 9070 will do you well. We aren’t looking for Counter-Strike frame rates here, and the lush Caribbean setting of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced means it'll be worth losing a few frames in favor of even fancier visuals.

Another thing worth considering here is a controller. The third-person combat and the naval battles aren’t best suited to mouse and keyboard. SCUF offers a lot of good options here. A REFLEX FPS if you’re a PlayStation guy or a VALOR PRO if you like Xbox — both are great for this game.

Given the lush, bright, and exotic setting of this game, it might serve as a good opportunity to upgrade your gaming monitor. A monitor with an OLED panel and HDR is what you should be looking for here. OLED gaming monitors have the best color accuracy and HDR will enhance this. The CORSAIR XENEON FLEX and XENEON 34WQHD240-C are both excellent choices, plus they have an ultrawide 21:9 aspect ratio, which is excellent for single-player immersion.

What Kind of Game is Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced?

We mentioned earlier that Black Flag was a departure from the series. Earlier games were all about slowly stalking a target so you could assassinate them with a smattering of out-and-out combat. They also heavily leaned on the modern-day parallel storyline.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag does keep some of the eponymous assassination gameplay of course, but the main draw of the game is full-on ship vs. ship combat. Here you will take the wheel of the Jackdaw, controlling which cannons fire, the ship's positioning, and when to board enemy vessels so you can get to swashbuckling.

The story has significantly less emphasis on the modern-day timeline, and supposedly the remake will reduce this even further. This is not surprising as the franchise shifted away from this framing device.
