Introducing CORSAIR Labs GitHub

The official CORSAIR Labs GitHub is now open to the public, offering tools and documentation for those that like to experiment and build their own projects. This won’t be exciting news for everyone, but for those that want to make the most of their kit, it’s exactly the sort of announcement that will make some sit up and take notice, especially the tinkerers that have had an idea flickering away in the back of their minds for a while.

So, what is CORSAIR Labs GitHub? It’s a place where CORSAIR can share code with the community and offer tools and examples of how to build projects that make the most of your setup. At the time of writing, you’ll find three repositories on the CORSAIR Labs GitHub: iCUE Widget Builder, iCUE Widget Runner for Windows, and iCUE Widget Runner for Raspberry Pi.

iCUE Widget Builder

The iCUE Widget Builder is an AI-agent skill for building, reviewing, and packaging CORSAIR iCUE Widgets. This skill can be imported into tools such as Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, and other compatible coding assistants to help users build Widgets for devices such as the XENEON EDGE 14.5" LCD Touchscreen, LCD-equipped pump caps, and keyboards with LCD displays.

This repository provides the AI-agent skill, workflows, examples, and reference material needed to start building your own Widget. Sure, if you’re an experienced programmer you’re going to be able to produce something quickly and have a better grasp of the whole process than a complete noob, but this skill can help someone with little to no programming experience create their own Widget. Something that may be absolutely specific to your needs, but could also benefit others.

You’ll need to download and install the iCUE Widget CLI from the main website. You’ll also need an AI agent installed on your machine. Fortunately, this isn’t nearly as complicated as it once was, and there are plenty of free tools available to help you get up and running with the minimum of fuss. It’s worth highlighting that if you do produce something you’re proud of and you think will benefit others, you will soon be able to share it on the Elgato Marketplace. There are plenty of iCUE Widgets up there already if you’re looking for inspiration.

iCUE Widget Runner for Raspberry Pi

If the iCUE Widget Builder helps you create Widgets, the iCUE Widget Runner for Raspberry Pi helps you run them in a completely different way. Traditionally, Widgets have been run on a Windows PC using iCUE software. This repository allows compatible Widgets to be hosted on a Raspberry Pi, turning everyone’s favorite tiny, affordable computer into a dedicated display for dashboards, visualizations, and other custom creations.

A Raspberry Pi connected to a XENEON EDGE display can become a dedicated dashboard for a desk setup, streaming station, workshop, or gaming room. Whether you're displaying a clock, audio visualizer, environmental data, or something entirely custom, the result is a display that's always available without taking up space on your primary monitor.

The Raspberry Pi Runner is also useful for experimentation and development. Compatible Widgets can be placed into the local widgets folder and launched through the Runner, making it easy to see how they'll look and behave on a small or touch-enabled display. It's a convenient way to test ideas and refine projects before sharing them with others.

One compelling use would be an audio visualizer. Depending on the Widget and Raspberry Pi model you're using, these can provide eye-catching visual feedback that responds in real time to music, games, or other audio playing on the system. More demanding visualizations may benefit from a Raspberry Pi 5, but they showcase what’s possible when freed from a traditional desktop environment.

iCUE Widget Runner for Windows

The third repository on the CORSAIR Labs GitHub right now is the iCUE Widget Runner for Windows. It’s like the Raspberry Pi one, only it works on Windows. If you've created a Widget or downloaded one from the community, Widget Runner provides a way to run it independently of iCUE. It also enables more advanced Widgets that can interact with external applications, scripts, and system-level resources, opening the door to highly customized experiences that wouldn’t be practical within a curated marketplace environment.

Everything needed to get started is bundled into one package, allowing compatible CORSAIR iCUE Widgets to be launched with minimal setup. Whether you're experimenting with a Widget you've built yourself, testing a new idea, or simply trying out Widgets shared by the community, it's a convenient way to get up and running quickly without having to worry about configuring a development environment.
