TC80 vs TC100: Comfort and Seating Position

Probably the biggest difference between the TC80 and the TC100 RELAXED is the newer TC80 adopts subtler branding and a muted color palette, for a more professional vibe. The TC100 meanwhile adheres to the more traditional racing seat styling, which isn’t going to be to everyone’s taste. The TC100 is available in a wider range of colors right now as well, including a rather fetching Lilac fabric finish, so if you’re looking to add a splash of color to your setup, that may be the way to go.

Having said that, the TC100 RELAXED is far subtler with its racing seat machinations that some of the chairs out there. As the name suggests, it’s more focused on comfort than many are, and the wider seat encourages a range of postures. The TC80 does take this a step further though, dropping the bolstering in favor of a wide flat seat for you to fill however you want. If you want to sit cross-legged while gaming, enjoying a film, or finishing off some work, then you can.

TC80 vs TC100: Adjustability

For the most part, both chairs offer a similar level of adjustability. The TC80 and TC100 use a Class 4 gas lift to offer 100mm of vertical adjustment, so you can find the perfect position to sit comfortably under your desk. The controls for doing this are within easy reach, so you can pop up and down as needed, and 5-star base ensures you’re going to be rock steady as you do so.

These chairs do differ when it comes to the armrests. The TC100 features 2D armrests, i.e. they can move up and down and can be adjusted in and out as well. The TC80 uses a linkage system instead, which helps retain a more constant angle as the backrest reclines. In other words, as you lean back the armrests stay flat. If you need more adjustment in your armrests, then the TC100 may be your better choice here.

One thing we have done with the TC80 though, is take a reality check when it comes to have far the seat back should recline. The truth is very few of us go for the full-out horizontal when sat in a chair, it’s why we have beds after all. So, we’ve defined the range of recline to more reasonable numbers. The TC80 lets you move between 90° and 115°. For comparison the TC100 RELAXED goes all the way back to 160°.

TC80 vs TC100: Durability and Testing

All CORSAIR chairs go through a punishing series of tests to make sure that they’re reliable and durable. Our latest chair, the TC80, is subjected to BIFMA and EN1335 testing to ensure that
