Legendary Performance and Reliability

Quiet operation at low loads, modular cabling and 80 PLUS® Gold efficiency makes HX Series PSUs a great choice for high-performance PCs.

Quiet operation at low loads

Basic PC power supplies have fans that spin whenever your PC is on – whether you’re pushing your graphics card to the limit or just surfing the web. HX Series power supplies are smarter than that: they generate less heat, so they require less cooling, and the thermally controlled fan only spins when it’s needed.

Slay the cable kraken

The modular cable set allows you to use only the cables you need for your particular set of components. There’s no more unwieldy mythical tentacled monstrosity of unused cables to clutter up the inside of your case.

High efficiency for lower energy consumption and less heat generation

Efficiency is the measurement of how well a power supply converts the AC power from your outlet to the DC power used by your PC’s components. If your power supply isn’t efficient, it will generate more heat, which requires more cooling and more fan noise. And, it might even affect your power bill.

HX Series PSUs are among the most efficient on the market. They help keep your PC cool and quiet, and your power bill down.

TechPowerUP recommends the Corsair HX1050

“Overall the Corsair HX1050 proved to be a good performer which for sure is worthy of its high price. With the six PCIe connectors that it's equipped it can easily feed three high-end VGAs along with other power hungry components. Also even at high loads the fan will work very efficient and runs quiet enough. Adding the seven years of warranty makes the HX1050 a very attractive deal.” "Even with 1050W of load it's close to 89% [efficient]. Many Gold units would envy those efficiency readings."

Corsair HX1050 gets the "Silver" award at Overclockers Club

"The Corsair HX1050 power supply is well made, nicely packaged and comes with a good set of accessories and all for just over $200 at most major retailers. A fair price when you look at what else is available in its class. If you are in the market for a solid power supply at a reasonable price then the HX1050 comes highly recommended. I have no hesitation in awarding the Corsair HX1050 power supply a OCC Silver award."

Corsair HX1050 scores 9.3/10 and wins the "Good Performance" award at VR-Zone

"Any enthusiast would love the electrical performance of the HX1050. Voltage ripple is very low and the electrical efficiency of the HX1050 sets the standard for 80Plus Silver certified units. The thermal performance of the HX1050 is very good, although it relies on the powerful cooling fan and consequently the acoustics performance suffers. We cannot claim that the HX1050 is loud but it could do a lot better with some minor improvements."

Corsair HX1050 scores 94% and wins the "Editor's Choice" award at Tweaktown.com

"Corsair has done a spectacular job with the introduction of the HX1050 into the Professional Series of power supplies. The HX1050 shows improvement in absolutely every area to make it worthy of replacing the HX1000. Voltage regulation was very good across the board from start to finish. While the DC output quality wasn't the best we have seen from Corsair, it certainly is good enough for almost any enthusiast grade system. Corsair also took a huge leap forward with the increased efficiency seen in the HX1050 and the extra two years of warranty. Corsair adds a bit more to sweeten the deal by offering the HX1050 for $219 which is the same price as the older and much less efficient HX1000."

Corsair HX1050 wins 3 awards at Technik3D - Gold, Eco, and Value awards

Publication language is German: “The Corsair CMPSU-1050HX offers everything a modern power supply should, and is surprisingly quiet for the relatively high output power of 1,050 watts. The built-in 140mm fan was barely audible at full load, and it was barely perceptible when overloaded by 13% (1189W) too.”

"The HX range look to be very competitively priced, with this HX1050 unit retailing for around £160 inc vat in the UK. This means it earns our highest award, being one of the finest power supplies in the respective price bracket." Pros: Great build quality and appearance Exceptionally quiet Custom CWT design is fantastic All round performance is stellar Cons: Its only semi modular "A Monster 1000W+ power supply and well worth the reasonable cash outlay, especially if you can’t afford the range topping AX units."
