Corsair attends Gamescom 2012 with a Vengeance!

By Gareth Ogden, on August 15, 2012

The spectacle of the London Olympic Games may be over, but in Germany at least, the games are set to continue... And there isn't a javelin or a pair of tight Lycra running shorts in sight. That's because this week Germany's fourth largest city, Cologne, plays host to gamescom 2012, Europe's biggest trade fair for interactive games and entertainment. And Corsair will be there in force!

Over 250,000 gamers will flock to Cologne from 15-19 August to see and experience the hottest new games from the world's major games developers and publishers. And when it comes to PC gaming there are few games publishers with a hotter line-up of games than Electronics Arts (EA™). Whether it's Battlefield 3, Crysis, Medal of Honor or FIFA Soccer, EA's PC gaming portfolio is fatter than a professional footballer's pay packet.

Inside the Corsair booth, 15 gamers play 13 minutes of BF3, Armored Kill. The winner gets a Corsair camo baseball cap, and the chance to win a 1,000 Euro Corsair gaming PC!

It's essential that EA's PC demo stations have the performance and quality to provide a perfect gaming experience for visitor's to their showfloor. This is why this year we're proud to announce that Corsair is the Official Gaming PC Supplier to Electronic Arts at gamescom 2012. In collaboration with our partners, ASUS, AMD and Sapphire, Corsair has provided a whopping 242 high-performance PC demo stations for EA's showfloor. These amazing PCs guarantee that visitors to EA's showfloor can experience the latest games exactly as the developers intended.

EA chose to partner with Corsair because we design and manufactures the majority of components and peripherals that go into building a high-quality gaming PC. This includes PC cases, memory modules, PSUs, cooling products, and solid-state drives, plus a full range of Vengeance® gaming keyboards, mice, and headsets. Corsair PC components and peripherals, when combined with a CPU, motherboard and graphics card, create the ultimate gaming PC, and the ultimate platform for showcasing the best games this year from EA.

Corsair has supplied 242 gaming demo stations for EA's entire show floor at gamescom 2012. 15 of those systems are in the Corsair Battlefield 3, Armored Kill booth. Here it is before the show opened!

Not only is Corsair providing the game demo stations for EA's showfloor, but we also have our own booth (Hall 6.1 – Stand: B072) showing EA's latest DLC add-on for Battlefield 3, Armored Kill™. Inside the Corsair booth we have 15 high-specification Corsair gaming PCs, with Vengeance gaming keyboards, mice and headsets. This means you'll be able to play Armored Kill at silky smooth frame rates and high details levels, with amazing gaming audio, and the competitive advantage provided by our mechanical gaming keyboards and precision laser gaming mice. So there's no excuse for poor performance!

Throughout the day we're running head-to-head gaming contests on Armored Kill, with 15 players battling it out for 13 grueling minutes of competitive gaming. The top player from each 13 minute session will bag a special edition Corsair camo baseball cap. More importantly, the top player from each session will also get invited back to the booth at 5pm each day to take part in a special prize draw to win one of our amazing Corsair demo station PCs. This is over 1,000 Euro worth of top-quality gaming hardware! So if you think you have the skills, come along to the Corsair booth and show us what you've got!

If your BF3 skills lacks the polish of an Olympic Gold medal then there are plenty more chances to win, as we'll also be handing out flyers detailing a competition to win even more Corsair gaming PCs. There are also plenty of Corsair representatives on the booth, so if you just want to have a chat about our latest hardware, then we'd love to see you. And even if you're not able to make it to the show, keep your eyes focused on the Corsair gamescom 2012 website (in German) at, and the Corsair Facebook page at for more chances to win some great prizes. We'll also be providing regular updates from the show, so stay tuned for more information throughout the week.
