Vengeance Headset Refresh

By James Cao, on October 20, 2013

Our line-up of Vengeance Corsair headsets have always been a popular choice for gamers and enthusiasts alike. With our most recent refresh of the headsets, we made some improvements across the line and are eager to share them with you.

Corsair Vengeance Headsets

For the Vengeance headsets, they share the same qualities that make them comfortable and durable to use. Utilizing a pair of 50mm drivers, each Vengeance headset aims to provide accurate and high quality sound in comparison to headsets using smaller drivers. We also incorporated an unidirectional, noise cancelling microphone so you can be heard clearly without having background noise be an issue. The large ear cups on our headsets also utilize soft microfiber cloth that fits over the ears gently and have a swivel joint for a secure fit. The flexible band allows the headset to conform to the size of the user’s head with padding to prevent discomfort. The cable coming from the headsets also remains braided to ensure it is not easily scuffed and prevents early wear and tear. Finally, we changed the color of the headsets slightly and replaced the shiny metal look with a dark gunmetal color for better aesthetics which the Vengeance line is known for.

Corsair Vengeance 2100

The Corsair Vengeance 2100 is our premium offering for headsets.  The V2100 allows the user to experience the richness of Dolby 7.1 and 5.1 surround sound with our software and offers wireless functionality with an internal rechargeable battery that will last up to 10 hours whether you’re in the middle of an intense gaming session or just relaxing with a movie on the screen.  Finally, with an adjustable boom microphone that mutes automatically when in the upright position, you can provide clear communication with your friends and family while gaming and easily muting the unit if you want to remain silent.

To keep the headset durable (especially with it being wireless and therefore more mobile relative to a corded headset), we took the additional measure of strengthening the joints. This was especially important to us as with wireless headsets, they will tend to be used much more often and freely without a cord being a form of tether. We understand that with a wireless headset, people may want to be more mobile and still keep the headset on.  It may look the same as the Vengeance 2000 at first glance, but there is a lot going on that may not be visible to the naked eye. For example, the plastic composition has been updated to be structurally stronger to maintain long term durability even for the most active and demanding users. Even the paint we used has metal alloy mixed into it so it provides additional rigidity to the product. The V2100 was no exception to the rigourous testing we put the headsets through to ensure they meet the standards of the Corsair brand.

Having a wireless headset removes the annoyance of wires that can get in the way of a positive gaming experience. There is nothing to trip over, nothing to entangle, and nothing that someone can chew or pull out of your PC. The additional convenience of being able to chat with your friends while getting a drink of water or going to the restroom while chatting is also understated. You never to worry about the battery going dry when you need it most either as there is an included USB cable that lets you charge and keep the headset on for use.

Corsair Vengeance 1500 (V2)

The Vengeance 1500 is a wired USB headset in our line-up of headsets. The V1500, like the V2100, also utilizes Dolby 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound with its 50mm drivers, and features the same adjustable noise-cancelling microphone.

The Vengeance 1500 will be popular for gamers who find that their onboard sound does not meet their standards and want more oomph without necessarily having to buy a large expensive sound card. Even if you do not game, the headset works great with movie watching and/or if you just want a large comfortable headset to chat and listen to with multimedia applications.

Those who are interested in what we changed in this revision, we made these following changes based on the feedback of our users:

1.)    One of the easiest visible changes is to the volume control module. We re-designed it with the goal of making it lighter so it won’t feel as if your headset will be pulled by the weight of it. We also made it smaller so it is easier to use and adjusted the placement on the wire to be closer within reach. This should make it much easier (and comfortable) to adjust the volume and mute controls.

2.)    Another big change that we incorporated into the second version of the V1500 is a new set of 50mm drivers to enhance the sound level. You’ll find that in comparison to the V1500 (V1), the highs and lows were adjusted to provide a better balance for an enriching experience.

The durability of the 1500 also is maintained with the reinforcement of the swivel joints and uses the same type of paint as the V2100 for that extra layer of rigidity so the headset will last for the years to come. Beyond those changes, the V1500 remains the same comfortable and accessible headset gamers expect from it.

Corsair Vengeance 1400

Unlike its other two brothers, the Vengeance 1400 is an analog headset and does not use USB as a source for audio. Instead, this headset was designed for our users who have an existing sound card they want to use but prefer the quality and comfort of a Vengeance headset. This also allows our users to enjoy the same features that separate our Vengeance headset from the competition but utilize additional hardware they may already have to their preferences. With a cable length up to 9.8 feet, you’ll also have plenty of space to use as well.

Some of our users may want to know what the differences are in the V1400 in comparison to the previous release of the V1300. The biggest difference that most people will know immediately upon using it is that we completely changed the 50mm drivers in the headset (similar to how the V1500 V2 was also modified) in order to provide a deeper and clearer audio experience. This means that the bass will sound deeper than before, and the highs in the headset will much more crisp and clear in comparison to the V1300. We also modified the inline remote and moved it closer to the headset for easy and convenience access when you need to adjust the volume.

All of our Vengeance headsets share the same universal design that make them sound and feel great. All of our headsets are also covered by our 2 year warranty as we stand behind all of our products. Whether you choose to go with a wireless option, or you prefer the analog V1400 to go with your awesome sound card, you can rest assured that our headsets are built to last, will sound amazing, and look great on your head.
