FAQ

VANGUARD AIR 99 includes 8MB of onboard memory that stores up to five (5) custom profiles. Once you configure your lighting, macros, key assignments and other features via CORSAIR software, the settings are saved directly to the hardware. This allows you to maintain your personalized setup on any PC or console without needing to reinstall software.
VANGUARD AIR 99 WIRELESS features CORSAIR OPX low-profile optical-mechanical switches. Unlike traditional switches that rely on physical metal contact, these switches use an infrared light beam to register a keystroke. This light-speed actuation reduces debounce delay and mechanical wear, resulting in a more durable switch with instantaneous reset times. Its low-profile design further enhances speed with a shorter travel distance and lower actuation points, enabling faster inputs and quicker reaction times.
Yes, the keycaps are removable. However, because our low-profile switches use shorter stems and housings, you should ensure any replacements are specifically designed for low-profile switches to maintain the proper travel distance and prevent bottoming out on the frame.
Absolutely. The programmable SD-keys on the VANGUARD AIR 99 WIRELESS interface directly with the Elgato Stream Deck software on your PC or Mac, allowing you to trigger custom macros, launch apps, or control other gears just like a standalone controller.
The Stream Deck app is not required for basic customization. You can easily remap key assignments, program macros, and other features directly through CORSAIR Web Hub or iCUE software. However, we recommend the Stream Deck app to unlock the full potential of your keyboard. With the app, your SD-keys evolve from simple shortcuts to powerful command center with access to Virtual Stream Deck and Elgato Marketplace. From there, you can download specialized plugins for apps like Discord, Zoom, Photoshop, and more for expanded control.
VANGUARD AIR 99 WIRELESS features fully customizable per-key RGB lighting. You can personalize your setup using CORSAIR Web Hub or iCUE software. The keyboard also includes onboard lighting effects that can be cycled through via FN shortcuts.
You can get started without installing a single app. Use the CORSAIR Web Hub for instant, browser-based configuration of your keyboard settings. To unlock the full power of the dedicated SD-keys, we recommend downloading the Stream Deck app. This enables the advanced control with access to Elgato Marketplace, allowing you to use plugins for apps like Discord, Zoom, and OBS. Advanced ecosystem synchronization via CORSAIR iCUE will be available in a future update, allowing you to sync your lighting and other performance settings with the rest of your CORSAIR gear.
VANGUARD AIR 99 WIRELESS supports up to 8,000Hz polling-rate for both wired and wireless connections to greatly reduce input latency.
Yes, this keyboard features a 99% layout with a full numpad and function row, making it suitable for a wide range of non-gaming tasks. Furthermore, the dedicated SD-keys integrate with the Elgato Stream Deck ecosystem, allowing you to automate complex professional tasks in apps like Excel, Zoom, and Adobe Creative Cloud with a single touch.
Yes, it offers wide compatibility across Windows, macOS, Linux, mobile, and gaming consoles. Please note that some system functions may not be supported on certain platforms.
VANGUARD AIR 99 WIRELESS provides three connection modes for on-the-go versatility across all your hardware: Slipstream Wireless, Bluetooth, and wired USB.
By default, the rotary dial action is set to volume adjustments. While the dial does not currently support custom user-defined remapping, you can instantly toggle between various modes using hardware shortcuts: FN+Num (Brightness), FN+/ (Volume), FN+* (Scrolling), and FN+- (Zoom).
Media controls are available through FN key combinations, and the rotary dial also supports multimedia control.
Yes, the included USB Type-C to Type A cable is detachable.
