Best Headset for GTA VI on Xbox Series X & S

Última actualización:

Grand Theft Auto VI is already well on its way to taking the world by storm. Even months prior to launch, the hype for GTA VI is off the charts. As we’re all getting ready to dive into the new experience, there’s one nagging question worth considering. Is there anything about my setup that should be upgraded in order to maximize my experience in GTA VI?

We’ve already taken a look at the overall setup in a previous article exploring headsets, controllers, and capture cards. The headsets, perhaps most important when considering how the game will be experienced, fall into three categories; immersion, endurance, and essentials. Let’s look closer at these three categories and the corresponding headsets.

Best GTA VI Headset for Immersion on XBOX Series X & S

The CORSAIR VIRTUOSO MAX Wireless for Xbox is the absolute best for immersion in the atmosphere and world of an open world game like Grand Theft Auto.

A target approaching from behind or above, discrete footsteps that might otherwise go missed. For those moments where pinpoint audio positioning matters, Dolby Atmos Spatial Audio and graphene drivers leave nothing on the table in terms of performance potential. And in case that wasn’t enough, Active Noise Cancellation helps cut out any unwanted environmental sounds from sneaking in and disrupting the action (or let it all in with Transparency mode if life demands it.)

The VIRTUOSO MAX also brings some versatility in use case; for moments where you don’t need a microphone, the omnidirectional broadcast-grade mic on Virtuoso Max is detachable to help keep things clean and minimal. When GTA Online does launch for GTA VI, though, you’ll want to keep it connected for callouts and banter with the crew.

Speaking of versatility, it doesn’t limit itself to just the Xbox ecosystem. It features Bluetooth audio connectivity to bridge the gap to your phone, and with the removable microphone this is a headset that will be welcomed out and about in the world when not gaming as well.

Best GTA VI Headset for Long Sessions on Xbox Series S & X

The CORSAIR VOID v2 MAX Wireless headset for Xbox fits the bill for that sweet spot of endurance; plenty of banner features to ensure you never miss a moment in-game, while also giving hours upon hours of comfort and battery life. An additional entrant worth considering in this category is the CORSAIR HS80 MAX for Xbox, which sports comparable specs.

VOID v2 MAX for Xbox and HS80 MAX for Xbox both feature immersive Dolby Atmos Spatial Audio, allowing you to not miss any of those critical in-game moments. They also sport incredibly comfortable ear pads that help keep unwanted noise from creeping in. Comfort and long play sessions are the name of the game for VOID v2 MAX for Xbox and HS80 MAX for Xbox.

In addition to lush padded ear pads and a lightweight design, both headsets feature simultaneous 2.4GHz wireless and Bluetooth connectivity. This means you can stay in the action while also watching a walkthrough or keeping in touch with friends on your phone; no more compromise or switching back and forth.

Finally, battery life. Don’t get pulled out of the action due to needing to recharge mid-game. The VOID v2 MAX for Xbox comes in at 70 hours battery life via 2.4GHz while the HS80 MAX for Xbox measures 65 hours w/o RGB. And if you are connecting via Bluetooth, that battery life extends to 130 hours for both models.

Best Essential Gaming Headset for GTA VI on Xbox Series X & S

The HS35 v3 Wired Gaming Headset is the no-fuss, dive-right-in headset option for any game, but especially GTA VI. You’ll never have to worry about maintaining a charge and HS35 v3 Wired keeps comfort in mind to not get in the way of the action.

Because it connects via a wired 3.5mm connection, it will work directly connected to the Xbox Wireless Controller headset jack; no dongle, no pairing, no charging.

While it does skip the Dolby Atmos functionality of the previously mentioned headsets, HS35 v3 Wired does still sport 50mm Neodymium drivers, punching well above its class to produce quality audio.

The size and weight of HS35 v3 Wired also helps set it apart in one key area of comfort. It comes in at only 230g, making it incredibly light and comfortable to wear for extended periods.

Where to Focus

Where should you put your focus when considering an upgrade in advance of November’s launch? While you can’t go wrong with any of the four options detailed in this article, the recommendation will ultimately depend on which of the three categories is prioritized; are you looking to maximize Immersion for the ultimate experience, do you want to hit that Endurance sweet spot between features and comfort/longevity, or focus on the Essentials to get into the game with ease.
