FAQs
iCUE LINK is Corsair's single-cable technology that allows fans, coolers, and other components to connect directly to each other in a chain using unified two-sided connectors. Each iCUE LINK device connects to the next, creating a daisy-chain that eliminates the need for separate RGB and PWM cables for every fan. The included iCUE LINK System Hub automatically detects, synchronizes, and manages all connected devices through a single connection point.
The starter kit includes 3x LX120 RGB fans, 1x iCUE LINK System Hub, 2x Active Connectors, 2x Passive Connectors, 1x iCUE LINK Cable (135mm, Slim-Slim), 1x iCUE LINK Cable (600mm, Straight-Slim), 1x PCIe Power Cable (for hub), 1x USB Cable (for hub), and 12x QuikTurn Mounting Screws. This provides everything needed to install and control three fans in an iCUE LINK ecosystem.
The iCUE LINK System Hub supports up to 24 iCUE LINK devices total (12 devices per channel across two channels). With the latest firmware update, you can connect significantly more fans than the original 7-per-channel limit. The hub automatically detects and manages all connected devices through the iCUE software.
The LX120 RGB fans do not require a motherboard RGB header. The included iCUE LINK System Hub connects to your motherboard via USB and receives power via an 8-pin PCIe connector from your power supply. All RGB and fan speed control is managed through the hub and iCUE software, eliminating the need for traditional motherboard fan headers or RGB headers for these specific fans.
The LX120 RGB fans deliver 69.9 CFM maximum airflow at 2,400 RPM with 5.22 mmH2O static pressure. The noise level ranges from 10 dBA at minimum speed (400 RPM) to 36 dBA at maximum speed (2,400 RPM). They feature Magnetic Dome bearings for exceptionally low noise with minimal friction.
Yes, the LX120 RGB fans are PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) fans with 4-pin functionality. PWM allows dynamic speed control from 400 RPM to 2,400 RPM based on system temperatures, which you can adjust through the iCUE software or allow your system to control automatically for optimal cooling and noise balance.
Yes, you can expand your setup by purchasing iCUE LINK LX120 RGB Single Fan Expansion packs (SKU: CO-9051025-WW) or additional triple packs. Since you already have the iCUE LINK System Hub from the starter kit, expansion fans simply daisy-chain to your existing fans without requiring another hub. The hub supports up to 24 devices in total.
AirGuide technology features anti-vortex stator vanes positioned behind the fan blades that focus airflow into a concentrated cone pattern. This focused airflow provides more effective cooling when used as a case fan or better heat dissipation when mounted on radiators, compared to fans without directional airflow optimization.
Each LX120 RGB fan features 18 addressable RGB LEDs spread across dual light loops (inner and outer rings). This dual light loop design delivers mesmerizing, synchronized RGB lighting effects that can be controlled and customized through Corsair iCUE software, including exclusive Time Warp lighting modes.
Yes, the LX120 RGB fans are designed for both case airflow and radiator mounting applications. With a static pressure of 5.22 mmH2O and AirGuide technology that focuses on airflow through obstacles, these fans effectively push air through radiators for liquid cooling systems while maintaining good cooling performance.
Each LX120 RGB fan measures 120mm x 120mm x 25mm (standard 120mm case fan dimensions). The weight per fan is approximately 0.255kg (0.56 lbs). This standard sizing ensures compatibility with virtually all PC cases that support 120mm fans.
The iCUE LINK System Hub requires an 8-pin PCIe power connector from your power supply and a USB connection to your motherboard. The USB connection allows iCUE software to communicate with the hub, while the PCIe power connector provides sufficient power for up to 24 connected iCUE LINK devices including fans, coolers, and other RGB components.
While the fans will operate at default settings without iCUE software installed, you need the CORSAIR iCUE software to customize RGB lighting effects, adjust fan curves, monitor temperatures, and access advanced features like Time Warp lighting modes. The iCUE software brings your entire setup together for intuitive control of all connected iCUE LINK devices.
The iCUE LINK LX120 RGB fans are covered by CORSAIR’s 5-year limited warranty. This warranty starts from the date of purchase from an authorized CORSAIR reseller and covers defects in materials and workmanship when used according to CORSAIR’s published guidelines.
Yes, the LX120 RGB Starter Kit is also available in white (SKU: CO-9051030-WW). Both color options include the same three fans, iCUE LINK System Hub, and accessories. Additionally, there is a reverse fan variant (LX120-R RGB) designed for builds where you want the RGB lighting visible from both intake and exhaust orientations.
