Death Stranding 2 System Requirements and Recommended Specs

One of the more pleasing developments in the world of gaming over the last few years has been the de-emphasis on “exclusives”. This has taken the form of console brands (Nintendo notwithstanding,) releasing newer entries of previously exclusive franchises on PC either simultaneously, or after x number of months.

This happened with the first Death Stranding, and now us PC gamers can finally have a go with the sequel. Well, hopefully we can, the specs for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach are more exacting than we’re used to.

It’s worth noting here that both sets of specs require an SSD. Given the ubiquity of SSDs this would be fine if not for the huge 150 GB install size and modern price issues with solid state storage.

With recommended specs like these, we know this game is going to be visually spectacular. This means that if Death Stranding 2 is a must-buy for you, it could be a great opportunity to upgrade to a 50 Series GPU from Nvidia or a 9070 / 9060 XT from AMD.

The Death Stranding games are known for having an otherworldly and totally immersive visual design, so you’ll want to keep a lot of the visual niceties switched on. Additionally, an OLED monitor or a 4K monitor is a great idea if you want to experience this game and all it’s beautiful weirdness in the best way possible.

Death Stranding 2 is hard to describe as doesn’t really fit into any of the standard genre descriptors and if we were to try, we’d be painting the game as something a lot more conventional than it actually is. It’s sort of a third person shooter, in that it’s played from a third-person perspective and there are guns, but that’s not the emphasis.

The emphasis is on traversal. You are tasked with delivering packages across a wide open post-apocalyptic landscape. You must make sure not to overload yourself, lest you trip and scatter your cargo.

While delivering these packages, you must also repair infrastructure to provide transport and utilities to survivors and burgeoning communities. It sounds odd, we know. But it’s best to try for yourself instead of reading about it. We told you it was hard to describe.
