What to look for in a PC case

A PC case is an expression of your build style, so be sure to explore the following aspects to dial it in for your needs:

• Size: Full tower, super tower, mid-tower, or compact options
• Power supply: Can your case accommodate ATX or SFX?
• Motherboard and radiator compatibility: Ensure that your motherboard or radiator components match the case you choose
• Drive bays: Spec out your case with the right amount of 2.5 and 3.5-inch bays
• Design: How much RGB lighting do you need? Do you prefer a traditional chassis, or something that feels newer and more modern?

Does your gaming PC case matter that much?

Some PC builders feel very strongly about how their case looks, while others just want something that fits the utility of the components they’ve chosen. No matter which camp you’re in, it’s important not to cut corners on this part of your build. Tempered glass windows, radiator cooling real estate, and RGB lighting all contribute to how your PC will look and perform. It’s also crucial to buy a case big enough for what you’re loading in. If you get something too small, and cram too many high-temperature components in there, it won’t run efficiently to maximize its performance.
