What to look for in an 800W-850W power supply unit

Is an 800W power supply unit enough for your needs?

When you’re calculating the power draw of your PC build, there’s a bit of a math equation you’ll need to do. Take a look at the continuous power draw of all your components—with a particular emphasis on the power-hungry units like the GPU. Add that number up, and make sure it’s less than the continuous power rating of your PSU. Of course, it’s not exactly that simple—power supply units work best and most efficiently with at least 25% headroom in power draw. So, make sure you give your PSU some breathing room.
