PC gamers have a thing for medieval settings. Perhaps it’s the silly hats, or enjoyably rural European accents, or just being able to gallop around stabbing people with varying levels of impunity.
Regardless, the first Kingdom Come: Deliverance proved a hit, and this sequel will doubtlessly impress. If the GPU recommendation is anything to go by, it will look damned beautiful, too. So, let’s take a look at the Kingdom Come: Deliverance II system requirements.
While the minimum requirements are pretty accessible, wanting a GeForce RTX 4070 in the recommended requirements is a little surprising. Like we said at the outset, this does make us think KCD:II will be a total looker.
Note also the 32GB RAM recommendation. Given that this is an open world game that needs to constantly load and unload assets as you trot across the grassy steppe, the amount of RAM you have will make a big difference to the experience. So, grabbing a 32GB kit of fast DRAM (DDR5 if your chipset supports it), will help avoid any texture pop-in or related visual nastiness.
While not strictly speaking possible to buy right now, seeing as they're sold out everywhere, a 50-Series GPU from Nvidia would hypothetically be a great way to maximise your immersion for this game, too. If however, you're looking for some products that exist, a 1440p or even 4K gaming monitor will display the lands of Bohemia very nicely.
It’s an open world RPG set in the Middle Ages, much like the Witcher franchise, but rooted in antiquity, not fantasy. So, expect less magic, but similar amounts of political intrigue and swordplay.
Additionally, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is played in the first person, so the combat is more intense, and there is perhaps greater focus on immersion. During your story playing as Henry of Skalitz, you can expect to ride around beautiful open landscapes, stopping off to rummage through the peasant-lined streets of fortified cities to search for upgrades, items, and of course the most valuable quarry of any gamer: side-quests.
It's a big game, twice as large as the first one actually, so you’ll be able to drink in the atmosphere long after the story is done with. Completionists will have a lot to do in the endgame, just how they like it.
