What to look for in an RGB case fan

With a lighting-forward fan, there are some key features to consider beyond a standard case fan.

• Design and lighting control: In this category, the way your RGB behaves should be paramount. Check for software control like CORSAIR’s iCUE.
• Bearing format: Go for magnetic levitation or hydraulic bearings.
• Size: Only choose a fan that’ll fit in your case’s fan/radiator slots.
• Static pressure and RPMs: Look at the specs for how much cooling and pressure is available.

Is RGB important to have for case fans?

RGB lighting is a mainstay for a PC, and one of the most popular places to add those brilliant accents is on the case fan. To be clear, RGB lighting doesn’t do anything, really, to improve the performance of the fan as it is just an aesthetic thing. But because the fans often sit right on the edge of your case, many PC builders opt to use RGB fans because they’re quite visible.
